So, you might not know that my mom died suddenly Saturday morning. We don't know why or how. She was alive, and then she wasn't. Services are tomorrow. I am not yet fully in touch with reality.
She was a wonderful woman, and I will always remember what she said at the play we attended in London when she visited while we were in Oxford (was it "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"?), when during the interval you both went out for a moment, and when you returned, you jumped over a row of seats whereas she went around, and commented "My daughter is the gazelle of the family; I'm more of a gnu." I liked that line so much I did a slightly different version of it in a poem I wrote senior year at SLC.
She was (and is) deeply appreciated by me, and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her, I'm certain.
Strength, peace, and blessings to all of you and yours during this time, dear friend. I shall keep you all in my prayers.
