“Okay, so, now we are on Earth...” Amelia Banks started. She didn’t get a chance to finish, however, as she soon realised her charge wasn’t beside her as she thought. “Ronon?” She called into the light crowd that filled the streets.

She looked around wildly. Sheppard was going to kill her if she lost him now. The only condition to why she was allowed “off base” with him was that she didn’t lose him. They had been going so well. So well that Amelia was starting to relax - obviously more than was necessary.

She spotted him over at a large window display. It was hard to mistake the tall man with dark dreadlocks for anyone else. She placed a hand gently on his lower back and stood beside him.

“What are you looking at?” Amelia asked, staring into the display of the video store.

“There are so many of them...” The statement was simple enough but it took her by surprise. She hadn’t even considered that he would be so unaccustomed to Earth ways, spending just over five years in their midst on Atlantis.

“Yeah, it’s an Earth thing, I guess.” Amelia then slid her hand into his. Hers seemed to tiny by comparison but she didn’t move it. He looked down at her, she smiled and then she tugged him along, forcing him to follow her as they continued to walk.

She couldn’t help but smile at the childish like way his eyes couldn’t stay on one thing for very long, always moving and roaming to look at the different thing that the city held. Amelia was sure for a first-timer it was fascinating, but for her, who had spent most of her life in the open city like this, it was almost mundane. It was a lifestyle she had given up most willingly to go to the Pegasus Galaxy. And looking at the Satedan next to her, she was glad she had.

He seemed most intrigued by the camping store they passed, marvelling over the little gadgets that Earth’s humans took for granted but runners like Ronon had never even considered. She saw sadness cross over his features but it passed and he was smiling again. Amelia chuckled at his antics. She had never seen him so enthused over anything before, nor seen him smile so much. It was hard not to catch his gusto for the shopping experience. Soon he was pulling her along and with his large strides, she had difficulty keeping up.

“Cin-e-mar...?” Ronon pondered, seeing the large sign that crossed over the top of the large building.

“Yeah, where you see the movies... but bigger.” She tried to explain. She wasn’t very good at this. She had grown up with all these things and trying to explain their purpose to a newcomer like Ronon was perplexing to her. Ronon just looked down at her with an expecting expression.

“Maybe later...” She told him. She was taken aback when he actually pouted at her. Who knew the warrior could be so persuasive. Amelia couldn’t resist it. “Oh, fine! But I get to pick the movie.”

Ronon was all too willing. The almost conniving smile that appeared on her face should have tipped off the usually very observant man.

“A chick flick it is...” She said mysteriously.

“Chick flick?” He asked of her, suddenly getting more worried. He had heard Sheppard mention it once or twice on their team’s movie night.

“You said I could pick. Are you going back on your word, now?”

“No.”

Amelia’s smile was replaced but when his worry lines didn’t dissipate she tried to think of a way to make him relax.

“Consider it a... cultural exchange?” She offered to him. He thought about it for a moment.

“As long as I get to do something I like later...” It was hard not to notice the way he said it, full of promise. He leaned down to take her lips with his but the hand on his chest prevented him.

“Easy boy, plenty of time for that in there,” She said, indicating to the entrance behind her.

“Maybe I’ll like chick-flicks, then.” Amelia laughed at his attempt to be enthusiastic about this part of the exchange and led him inside.
