CSI

We've finished CSI! It feels really weird to have come to the end of, well, an era. Fifteen seasons! ( Putting this all under a cut for CSI spoilers, including CSI: Vegas )

tv: csi: vegas, tv: csi

I guess it's difficult to write a proper finale for an iconic series, but a lame ending is always really a disappointment. I'm glad you have your couple back to watch, and I am sure the CSI fandom will benefit from your writing!

That's probably true. I'm just glad I didn't end up hating it. That would have been worse, because that always colours the rest of the series as well. This didn't, fortunately.

(Also, I always feel a bit guilty for the spam when I go on an answering-comments spree. Hope you don't mind all the e-mails!)

Right with you on the Sara being framed episode. Her character feels like one that bore a lot of the misogyny of that time period because she was written to be a bit more outspoken and not always nice or flirty and I know fandom wasn't always kind about that and it translated through to the show where she was sometimes put in a really bad light that was not earned at all.

I've seen season 1 of the new CSI and enjoyed it well enough, it's not OG CSI but I'll go back for season 2 soon.

Yes please for more Morgan fanfic, I liked her character a lot.

As always my mind is blown when I hear about fandom hating on characters - seriously?! People had issues with Sara?! (I was just as flabbergasted when I heard apparently people hated Ginny Weasley for reasons I still can't comprehend.) Sure, she had a temper, but she also had a kind heart and a fierce protective streak. I will never understand people.

I liked CSI Vegas well enough. Didn't think it held up perfectly to the original, but that's a tough burden to bear, isn't it? It took me a while to warm up to the new characters, but that's surely at least partly because I was so excited to see Sara and Grissom together. :D

I always thought that some of the Ginny Weasley hate came from people who were movie fans but not book fans as in the books she's one of my favourite characters. The movies never showed how much of a badass she was.

Honestly I think so much of the world thrives on hating women. Even women do the thing where they put other women down so they can say "I'm different than her". There's some online drama I'm only vaguely aware of where Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez are having a fight and the internet has gone hard on bullying Hailey and it's just bonkers. Just let the rich people fight their own fights, roll your eyes at how ridiculous it is that any adult is having drama like that on social media when they could pick literally any other hobby, and then ignore them. It's not hard.

Agreed with the new CSI - I still need to get to season 2 but it was decent. I didn't love the new cast right away but didn't hate them and very much do want to get back to watching the second season to see if I get hooked.

That's possible, of course. I know I've seen the first one (though all I remember is that it was a gift from my brother, which was really the important part, I don't recall anything from the movie) and I might have seen two? Or three? Anyway, all that to say, that might explain why it makes no sense to me, if it's the movies that really started that point.

Unfortunately. It's also something that is everywhere in books. I mostly read books with female main characters, but it's so rare that has an *actual* friendship with another girl that when it happens I notice. I feel most girl MC's either have no friends, only have boy friends, or have the kind of friendship that's not a friendship at all. I know where it comes from, but still, women hating on women will never make sense to me.
