Late again, but I didn't want to just skip them entirely (though I was tempted, have to admit). The last weeks have been really, really tough.

Well, you certainly read more than I did! (No surprise there, right?) Sequels are often a disappointment in my experience. Sometimes it doesn't feel like that author really wants to say anything, but just get something done.

Good characters and a nice flow to the writing do make for a pleasant read, even if the story-line doesn't really grab you.

There also just seems to be something difficult in the second book; even in trilogies, the second is nearly always the weakest link.

That writing flow is *so* important!! And something that's so often lacking ...
