Holst's "The Planets" is actually a really overrated suite. Listening to it (even live) will make you feel like you're watching a seventh grade space video and you WILL fall asleep. But there are a few good movements.

However, the song "Hammerheart" is throroughly amazing.

Right. I agree about the planets.

However, it has its moments, and the one that "Hammerheart" is derived from is about the coolest most majestic melody ever. It makes up for the rest by itself almost.

I realize that you do not like post-rock, but Sigur Ros has a 7 movement opera based on an epic poem called "Odin's Raven Magic". I would suggest listnening.

i have that

And i do not dislike ALL post-rock, i rather like domakesaythink from what I've heard. I just cant stand the unbearable pretentiousness of it sometimes, and even the best of it, you gotta be in a certain mood for, specifically, a mood of being bored/not rocking. I can deal with a few things like that no problem.
What i said is that I do not like Mogwai much. Just don't!
Sigur Ros is okay with me, though, like most postrock, criminally overrated.
