I just learned some interesting things about Catholic beliefs. It's no wonder they can sometimes be even more opposed to abortion than even Evangelicals.

that is very interesting... especially the commentary by random not-denominationally-identified reverend guy. the commentary is extremely interesting to me, though controversial if that is the case. but i mean, it's doctrine like that (doctrine that is not specifically addressed in the bible) that people either have to believe because someone tells them, or that people have to try to understand for themselves while questioning their entire faith structure, or that people just choose to ignore to make things easier ( ... )

i went to my friend kara's bible study when i was in greenville, and one of the things we talked about at length was how the blood of Jesus covers us and acts as an agent of grace over our lives. kara put it this way: "it's like if i, the artist, go to the sistine chapel, get out my crayons, and try to fix up michaelangelo's work. or if i try to copy the whole thing into my sketchbook. it just doesn't work that way. the sistine chapel painting is a masterpiece i could never alter or copy, no matter how hard i try. and i wasn't meant to. i was just meant to be me."

yes, grace...the one thing we forget, but the one thing we need.
