actually u can just eat pork belly but removed the fat part lo. By the way how your mom cook pork belly? roasted or stewed? My favorite is just steam it then dip with cut chilli, garlic and soya sauce with some sugar. yummy!! (without the fats! Lol)
and to think i would see such an entry after i complained to my colleague that my aunts dun use pork belly in their 家传 ba zhang recipes anymore... hmm.
to deal with mothers that only believe words from "they" instead of us, best way is to express dislike to the dish and when they cook, just skip only that dish. once they realised, they will stop cooking that liao. at least ur portion.
