What would have happened if our grandfathers and great grandfathers snuck into this country? Would they have been given amnesty? Yeah I didn't think so.

Also...I agree with the temporary workers program...and for a process that allows them to become citizens if wanted, but they must document themselves as temp. workers first. That process would still take 10+ years. My wife is a legal immigrant for crying out loud!

This all sucks. I guess Bolton has had enough and I don't blame him.
He had an uphill battle and I wish he had gotten approved.

It is going to take a minimum of 5 months to secure a passport for my son who is a citizen by birthright from here, one month before we can even start the process to get the US to recognize his birth... There are so many smart people who would like to come here to work, live, etc and it takes forever for them to get in. But, come in here illegally, and be granted citizenship rights without any hassles? FUCK!

Bolton's resignation was a big disappointment to me this morning, but I can hardly blame the guy. The Bush administration is rolling over for the Dems right now and I'm sure he saw that there was no way he could get the support he needed from the white house to get his nomination through congress.
