Ok In Scotland do go to the Highlands. This is a MUST. You cannot go to Scotland and not take a day trip up there. It is by far one of the most breathtaking sights in Europe. They have lots of bus tours that take you up there and you see Balmoral, the Harry Potter bridge, the Monty Python Palace, Mel Gibson's Hamlet's Palace, and of course Loch Ness, which is nestled into Mountains and the North Sea. You can also take a boat daytrip to the Isle of Iona, which is awesome. If you can make it to Perth, do it. Glasgow is not so great. No need to feel the need to go see it. My family is from Glasgow and I can honestly say it is the most depressing, industrial city I have ever visited. In Scotland leave the cities behind and do the countryside, you won't be sorry.
Hadrian's wall divides England and Scotland (well it used to) so it is in the borderlands, but would be cool to check out. Stirling Castle is cool and you can check out HolyRood. When I was there, the Queen was in town so I could not go!
