I can only pass on what helped me. I'm on high blood pressure meds, and I take one feverfew capsule and one magnesium tablet a day. If you don't have high blood pressure, you can bypass that. When I was suffering migraines a lot, I researched and discovered that many people who suffer migraines have lower magnesium levels than usual. The feverfew helps blood vessel health.
You may also want to check your environment or any changes in your diet. Chocolate, sugar, merlot wine can all be triggers. Also, if you do have a migraine, excedrin migraine can work as well as more expensive presciptions.

I'd look into your eating/sleeping patterns. Have you introduced anything new or stopped in your diet? I agree with the others, magnesium and also a B2 and coQ10 may help. Also consider allergies. For example, mine are triggered by sinus issues/allergies. As well as eating processed food like pepperoni (sad bc i LOVE pepperoni) Keep several icepacks in your fridge, so as soon as one defrosts, you can grab another, and place around your neck. Try to keep a daily log so you can get a better idea of them. I went from daily down to monthly attacks. I also get menstrual ones, but I found out that the synthetic estrogen in birth control pills Increased my migraines so I had switched to mini pill. Now I am not on anything and still trying to find a way to stop them altogether.

Can you find a local doctor? At the very least, keep a headache diary- write mood, sleep, food, weather, headache symptoms, etc. it can help you suss out triggers.
.
Every migraineur is different, and the treatment is "shake this at it, see if it works" hoodoo.
.
For me, the worst triggers are barometric pressure change, strong perfumes, and prolonged severe stress. (and after a concussion, tannins)
.
My dailies are: morning- magnesium, coq10, evening primrose oil, b-complex, cinnamon, ginger, multi-vitamin, iron, and in the winter vitamin D; evening- magnesium, coq10, valerian. If there is an impending environmental trigger (thunderstorm rolling in) I add naproxen sodium as a preventative.
