FROM CHAPTER 9-B:
“Even if she needed the help of her watchdog?” Kyuhyun stood up, wearing his jacket as a signal that he’s going.
“Even if she did. There’s nothing that I can do now but wait and watch her do her next step. If she calls for me, I have no choice but to follow my REAL master’s order, and that is, to follow Seo Jeohyun.”
“Very well, then, I can assure you that your REAL master,” Kyuhyun turned to him and smiled, “Is happy.”

“UMMA!”
Krystal almost shouted since Victoria was still astounded at the sudden report. She looked again at the TV screen. Although it was a commercial break, the same scenes appear on her head.
So… It’s like that, she smiled to herself. Tears were waiting for her permission to fall from her eyes. She had always told to her fellow members never to cry in front of them. But, this time…
She felt it was almost suicidal.

Sungmin, after watching the news, covered herself tightly before going out. She wore a cap and sunglasses just for the sake of being not caught.
She went on to a grocery store for her weekly meal. She had to be cautious given that she will be recognized in no time. People are obviously netizens by heart, so one wrong move, she’s dead.
As she was going to the cashier, though, a man then purposely bumped her and took a photo.
“YAH! EVERYONE! IT’S LEE SUNGMIN!!!”
Shit, she thought. By then, those people who were walking and passing before her were mostly from the press. She needed to hide, to run, but what about her grocery? She will be hungry, she will die. She cannot even act normal since it was her first time to be pushed around by the paparazzi.
“Ms. Lee,” she heard from behind, “Over here.”
Sungmin had no time to ask questions, so she just followed the woman. They safely got on to the elevator, leaving the disappointed press people behind.
“Um, thanks…”
“You’re welcome,” The woman uncovered her face, and Sungmin couldn’t hide her fear.
“You-”
“No time to explain, Sungmin,” said Victoria, “I know who’s behind these events. I already ordered some people who I trust to get your things from your house, notably clothes, shoes, and things that you might need.”
“B-but… W-where are you taking me?”
“Since your house, isn’t safe, you’ll live with us. That is, with me and my fellow Effe(x) members.”
~o~
Sungmin hadn’t moved from the chair Amber offered to her. She couldn’t eat nor look straight to them. she’s in Effe(x)’s dorm, being secured. She couldn’t get out of her head on why Victoria was helping her when in fact she must be angry with her. The press would have sided with her if she caused a commotion, make a fake story, et cetera, but no.
Victoria, one of the two people whom she thought will never help her, was actually give her a hand.
“Um, Sungmin-unnie?” Sulli asked. Sungmin looked to her with a stunned face.
Such beauty, she said, amused, even without make-up, she’s perfect.
“Y-yes, Sulli?”
“Um, Vic-umma wants to talk to you…”
“N-ne…”
She stood up but when she began walking, she felt wobbly and almost fell in front of Krystal, who was beside Sulli. She said her apologies and went straight to Victoria’s room.
“Um…”
“Come,” Victoria said calmly. Sungmin still couldn’t hide the thought that Victoria might do something to her. Still, she’s ready if that thought happens.
“W-what… No, please, if… If you think I’m such a stupid-”
“I broke up with Gui Xian…”
Sungmin’s eyes widened and Victoria just smiled but looked away from the petite woman. Sungmin, then, went to Victoria’s bed and sat beside her.
“I-I’m sorry, I shouldn’t… I shouldn’t have come back for him. I-”
“No,” she hugged her, “I’m always and forever be thankful to you, Lee Sungmin. You were the one who made it possible for me and Kyuhyun to have a relationship, even if it just lasted for three months.”
“H-has it r-really been three months?”
“Of course, silly,” the Chinese woman wiped her tears, “That’s why… That’s why I can never… I can’t get angry to you. That’s why, you, you should remember that Gui Xian really loves you. It’s hard for someone like me…”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“You mean… You didn’t know?”
“Know about what?”
“Gui Xian… in the army, he said he was drinking pills for fatigue. It turned out to be a new experimented drug by my cousin. Of course, you know Zhou Mi. Those pills… They can make you forget things in one day, most especially the dearest ones. Weren’t you shocked that Kyuhyun forgot about you?”
Sungmin just looked at her and she shook her head. She put a hand over her mouth and closed her eyes.
“Wait, those pills… those were from Zhou Mi-oppa?”
“Y-yes… Why?”
“No wonder…”
“What do you mean?”
“Zhou Mi-oppa gave me pills because I was an insomniac. He told me that it was effective. True, it was effective, but then, I started forgetting about Kyuhyun, until he was discharged from the army. By that time, Zhou Mi-oppa stopped giving me those pills. His reason it was out of stock.”
“Now,” Victoria held her hand, “You do know who’s behind this? It’s obvious, right?”
“No… Don’t tell me it’s her.”
“Zhou Mi told me she was asking for it because she needed it. Turns out, she was giving it to Sunny to deliver them to Kyuhyun, since Sunny was a trainee at SME at that time.”
“Why… Why must it be Seo Jeohyun?!”
“Also, I had one more reason why I intend you to live here in the meantime.”
“Huh?”
“He told me…”
The sound of the doorbell made Victoria look down and hold Sungmin’s hand tighter.
“He ordered me to keep you safe. And, since I’m foolishly in love with him, I said yes.”
The door of Victoria’s room opened. Sungmin turned around and saw him. He was panting and felt like he was going to die if he didn’t see her. The Chinese woman stood up, and Kyuhyun went towards her. He hugged her and whispered her that he was thankful for keeping Sungmin safe. Victoria hugged him tighter and told him that she still can’t let go of him but she needed to move on. He kissed her forehead that was covered with her bangs. She walked out of them room, resisting the urge to cry, and closed the door.
He went towards Sungmin and he kissed her full on the lips. She responded back immediately.
“I’m so sorry!”
“Babo! It wasn’t your fault!”
“No! No, it’s my fault, when I heard the news… Damn it, I’m so stupid.”
“Stop it, oppa, don’t give yourself a hard time.”
“Still,” Kyuhyun kissed her one more time, “You’re safe. I’m so happy. I love you so much, Minnie…”
“I love you, too oppa…”
