A/N: Finally, graduating college. Hope you enjoy this chapter! ^^

FROM CHAPTER 6:
“Let’s just say,” Nichkhun faced Naoko, “he’s a very important person for me.”

“And also,” Kris faced Naoko, too, “he’s the person I dread the most.”

“You never changed, giant,” Nichkhun patted Kris’ shoulder and went on his way.

“You never changed too, asshole.” Kris shouted back as Nichkhun wave his hand.

Later that night, Nichkhun made an excuse and cancelled his set-up date with Naoko. He looked pretty much devastated at the fact that he was in South Korea to seal a ‘contract’, which happened to be his dad’s business deal with the Kujo family. He went outside his house and told his butler, Aran, that he might be late.

With that, he set out the night with a relief. He went to some of his friends’ houses. Drinking, partying, and nonstop flirting with any girl available during that time. It was definitely late and decided to stay at his friend Jun.K’s house.

It seemed only two hours for him but it was seven in the morning and he needed to go to school.

“Well, since you will obviously miss the first and second class, you might as well just go by lunch time.” Jun.K suggested to him. He was already in college and was working part-time at a local coffee shop and by weekends, he keeps his late night work as a host near Itaewon.

“That’s not it, bro,” Nichkhun said, hurrying to the front doorstep to wear his shoes, “I’m not really planning on attending class. I need to talk to someone and it’s going to be, definitely in my perspective, a very long one.”

“Now, now,” his friend said, laughing, “you’ve been here, what, three weeks ago, and you got yourself a steady relationship?”

“Ah, that part, not really, but the one that I need to talk to is a guy.”

It was lunchtime and Nichkhun just bribed the guards around the front gates to let him in, which actually worked. He didn’t expect it but it was not part of his plans to do such a thing.

He hurriedly ran to the rooftop since it was his ‘territory’ ever since they were kids. He knew also that he was expecting him. As it turns out, he was there, smoking at the corner of the platform near the rear end.

“Not afraid of getting caught?”

“Being caught is not in my book, remember?” Kris said, as he puffed another breathless life out of him before he flicked the cigarette butt to the trash bin. Nichkhun handed him a couple packs of rice cakes, still frozen and a box full of instant ramen noodles.

“Bribing wasn’t your thing before,” Kris said as he dropped the materials. Nichkhun shrugged and sat beside the pale guy.

“It’s not a bribe. Your mother told me to give that to you.” When Kris heard that, he kicked them away from him. He even stomped one of the ramen noodles and lit it with his lighter. Nichkhun just looked away, “I see, you haven’t fix with her.”

“What’s there to fix?”

“Don’t really know. But if you look inside you, you’re still broken.”

“He left us without any daily necessity that time. She, on the other hand, tried to find another man who suits the likes of you.”

Nichkhun let out a sigh and stood up. He looked out the railings and said, “Y’know, she does make you feel protected.”

“What the-”

“I mean, Kujo Naoko.”

Kris, then, stood up and leaned on the railings and chuckled. He scratched his head and cleared his throat.

“I don’t know, Khun,” Kris began, “I… I think she’s the one.” Nichkhun then asked for a cigarette. After putting it on his lips, he asked for a lighter.

“But, she’s stuck with me,” he said, as he lit the cigarette. He let out a long trail of smoke.

“I assure you that I will do anything just to get her from you.”

“Ask her parents. Too delusional, they make me sick at times.”

“Hey, all I care now is to be the one for her. Now, if you’re getting in my way, then, just move aside.”

“I won’t, Kris. I love her. I’m starting to feel something for her and it blacks me out whenever I’m with another girl. I do want to forget her, Kris, but it’s fucking hard.”

“Shit’s got real, then,” Kris smiled, “lemme ask you one more thing, then. Do you love her as you had said?”

“Yes, of course. Even without this shitty contract so that our parents’ businesses will merge, I am proud to announce that she is that girl who makes me believe on the word ‘completion’.”

“Poetic, but no, I won’t give up on her,” Kris grabbed Nichkhun by the collar, “especially to an asshole like you. I still remember what you did to ‘V’.”

“Don’t drag ‘V’ into this, Kris.” He pulled Kris’ hand away from him. The sunlight was then covered by sets of clouds above. The surrounding dimmed and only the two of them were loud at their place.

“You made a fool out of her, and what did you do?” asked Kris, who sat down, “you chose Stephanie Hwang instead.”

Nichkhun spitted and flicked his cigarette somewhere. He opened the door and, before he ran down the stairs, he looked at Kris.

“About you getting Naoko, I’ll think about it.”

With that, he left Kris.

“So, that’s how you manage to create these words in Mandarin. Any questions? None? Okay, class dismissed.”

It was nine in the evening when the sophomore classes had dismissed. Naoko, who was arranging her books, looked at who was standing in front of her.

“What do you want, Kris?”

“I… well… Can…”

“If you’re asking me out, then, let’s meet up tomorrow after my cram school. We can eat dinner, by then.”

“Wait, cram school? What are you, a senior?”

“No,” Naoko smiled, “this is nothing personal, Kris, but, since I failed to be the top student, my parents enrolled me to cram school so that I can be advanced on my studies.”

“What? Are they nuts?”

Naoko just laughed. She looked around and noticed nobody was around. She, then, flung herself entirely to Kris. He grabbed her and kissed her. Bit by bit, the sound of Naoko’s moans filled Kris with frustration. He suddenly broke the kiss and looked away from her.

“Na… Naoko…”

“What is it?” She asked as she cupped his face with her hands.

“”I know, this may sound stupid but, Naoko, I don’t want to start this kind of thing with you. I don’t want to play with you. I”

“Who said I’m playing with you?”

“I mean, well…” He said as he fixed his necktie and wore his jacket, “I just thought…”

“Kris,” Naoko swung her bag to herself, “When I said ‘I love you’, I meant it. I didn’t mean to make you feel stupid or as if I’m playing, or whatever, but, I told you, I don’t love Nichkhun. I… I don’t want to be with him. I want to be with you, Kris.”

Kris bit his lower lip and held Naoko’s hands. He felt like crying but he didn’t want to get his pride down. He sniffed and kissed her hands.

“I mean, I don’t want to start it off like this. You’re different from those girls I’ve dated before. I don’t want, shit, I don’t want to be just a ‘one-night stand’.”

“You… Does that mean you’re…”

“Yeah, not a virgin,” Kris grabbed his bag and went out. Naoko ran after him. She held his hand and they began walking.

“So what if you’re not a virgin anymore?” Naoko smiled and held his hand tightly, “I can be your last, if you want.”

“Shut up, stupid.” Kris said. They then went out and saw a car waiting for them outside. They were both frantic but, when they saw the passenger, they both had the same reaction.

“C’mon, you weren’t out by 10-15 minutes, so I thought I should stay behind,” Nichkhun said mightily with his overflowing sarcasm, “I’ll give you both a ride home.”

As they went inside the car, Nichkhun threw a box at Kris, hitting him on his chest.

“Just in case, so that you’re ready anytime.” Kris groaned and whispered ‘asshole’. Still, he kept it on his bag. When they were nearing the bus stop, Kris patted Nichkhun.

“I’ll get off here.”

“Why?” asked Nichkhun with a smile.

“Just because,” said Kris and the driver pulled, “Y’know anyway why, Nichkhun.”

“Fine.”

Naoko just looked at the two of them. As Kris got off the car, Naoko then patted Nichkhun.

“Why?”

“Because,” Nichkhun looked at her, “if your father sees him with you at the back, I don’t think you’ll be happy with the consequences.”
