“ Are you sure about this Tegoshi ? “ Koyama asked worriedly .
“ yes . please keii-chan . just this once . please . “ Tegoshi pleaded on the other side of the phone.
“ ugh . just do it Keii so we can eat peacefully , thank you . “ Shige said, clearly annoyed at Tegoshi’s untimely phone call during their lunch-date .
“ you know I hate lying Tegoshi ~ especially to Ryo . “
Tegoshi was silent on the other end of the line , but Koyama knew , he was making that puppy-dog face he always makes when he wants something .
“ ah , FINE . But , don’t blame me if Ryo gets a heart-attack or something . “
“ YAY . I wub you cho much Keii-chan ~ “ Tegoshi squealed .
“ I know , I know . Now if you mind , I still have to call Ryo and finish lunch . “ Koyama hastily stated .
“ Ok . Thank You So Much ! Oh , and sorry Shige ! ~ “ he screamed into the receiver .
Koyama pressed the ‘end-call’ button and scrolled through his contacts for Ryo’s number. He pressed ‘call’ and after 2 rings, Nishikido Ryo answered the call .
“ Oh Koyama , you already greeted me this morning . What’s up ? “ Ryo asked .
“ Oh , uh , uhm . Yeah about that . . . “
He took a very deep breath then continued .
“ Is Tegoshi with you ? “ he stuttered out .
“ this guy . . . he really hates lying . and sucks at it too . “ Shige thought to himself as he gave Koyama a smuggish-like grin .
“ No . He hasn’t called me either . That brat forgot it’s my birthday today , I guess . “ Ryo said with a hint of sadness in his voice that he tried hard to hide .
“ Eh ~ but he told me he was going to the Jimusho building there in Osaka . . . ah , can you wait a bit , I have another call . “
“ Yeah , sure . “
Koyama put Ryo on hold and looked at Shige for help .
“ Just tell him that Tegoshi called , crying , saying that he can’t take it anymore and he says goodbye . “ Shige answered lightly as he slowly slurped his ramen .
“ Ah . Yes . That’s perfect ! “ Koyama stated as he pressed the answer button again , this time , he tried to sound more alarmed .
“ Ryo , that was Tegoshi . He was crying , saying that he can’t take it anymore . He kept on saying goodbye . “ Koyama smiled .
Shige laughed at his bestfriend/boyfriends parrot-like feature . He simply repeated everything Shige told him .
“ EH . Wh-where is he ? Is he really in Osaka ? “ Ryo wasn’t acting alarmed at all . “ You better not be joking with me Koyama . “ Now he sounded threatening .
“ WHY WOULD I JOKE ABOUT THAT MATTER ? ! “ Koyama deliberately screamed into the receiver .
“ HE SAID HE WAS AT A ROOF-TOP SOMEWHERE . YOU’RE AT THE JIMUSHO NOW AREN’T YOU ? CHECK THERE FIRST , I’LL GO TO HIS APARTMENT . “ Koyama ended the call and smashed his phone on the table , taking his acting a bit too far .
“ Well , that wasn’t hard now , was it ? “ Shige asked mockingly .
“ Ryo-chan really sounded worried . AAh ~ I can’t go to Osaka now . He might kill me . “ Koyama put his head in his hands .
Shige just laughed .

That brat . What is he trying to do ? Ryo thought to himself as he ran through the 32 flights of stairs of the Osaka Jimusho building .
He stopped when his phone vibrated . It was a message from Tegoshi .
‘ Thank You for everything Ryo-tan . I will always treasure the times we had together , I will always love you , Goodbye . ‘
Don’t you dare do anything stupid Tegoshi . Not on my birthday . Not until I lose you fair and square .
As Ryo ran faster , vivid images of Tegoshi came flooding his thoughts . The first time he saw Tegoshi at the Jimusho . The first time their eyes met . The first time they spoke to each other . The first time they quarreled . The first time they kissed .
Ryo shook his head . Why the hell am I thinking of these now ? ! It’s not like I’m going to loose him .
He finally reached the last floor . He pushed the doors to the rooftop open and was taken aback by what greeted him there .
Balloons of blue and pink filled his vision . A table set for two was positioned right at the center of the place . And there he was . ( well , in a rather dangerous position, might I add . ) Standing at the edge of the rooftop , Tegoshi looked at Ryo , smiling his wide , beautiful smile that Ryo loved the most .
Ryo made his way towards Tegoshi and grabbed his arm , roughly .
“ You . You want me to push you of the roof ? “ Ryo asked sarcastically as he shook Tegoshi , as if attempting to push him off .
Tegoshi laughed as he jumped off the ledge and hugged Ryo .
“ I know you wouldn’t do that . Judging from how tight you held onto my arm , no , you definitely wouldn’t push me off . “ Tegoshi let go and looked at Ryo straight in the eyes .
“ Don’t you ever scare me like that ever again . “ Ryo told Tegoshi as he pulled Tegoshi in a loving embrace
“ You know I won’t leave you not unless you want me too . But then again , if you told me to leave you , I’d be stubborn and stay by your side . “ Tegoshi said as he giggled . Ryo’s romantic and fragile side always made Tegoshi feel happy and contented .
“ Happy Birthday , Ryo-tan . “ Tegoshi whispered to Ryo’s ear .
“ Thank You , Hime . “ Ryo said as he hugged Tegoshi tighter . He closed his eyes and just enjoyed the feeling of having his one and only in his arms .
This, by far , has been the best birthday surprise he’s ever had .
“ Oh , by the way , how much did you pay Koyama to tell me that stupid lie ? “ Ryo asked as they made their way to the table .
