I agree with your disbelief about Academy!Bones being that outwardly kinky... but as you know, it's often the people you'd least suspect. I could see it going either way for Bones. There are a lot of people who seem like they'd be vanilla and/or prudish when you first meet them, but they're actually kinky as hell. I could see Bones having gone into hermitage for a while after the divorce, but that doesn't mean he stops being inherently kinky. Hell, I could see PART of the problem with his marriage to Jocelyn being due to the fact that he's kinky and Joce was vanilla. So... I think it could go either way.

I'm glad you love the realistic club scene. When I talked about the club in "The Harder They Fall," I knew I wanted to introduce the club eventually like this, but I never got around to it.

And you're right - a lot of medical folks in the scene DO bring first aid supplies to dungeons because of all this sort of shit. I totally pictured Bones being like that, and I'm delighted that someone else got a kick out of it. :)

I've seen that sort of thing disrupt relationships, and it's not always obvious to folks on the outside. One person discovers his/her inherent need for kink, while the other person just can't adjust to kink, and the result is a complete mis-match of sexual dynamics. It exacerbates any other relationship problems that might be happening, and slowly destroys the relationship.

Hehehe... couldn't resist. I've always pictured Jim as someone who is an old movie/film/TV show buff. I've shown that characterization in other fics, including Monty Python, Ghostbusters, and other quotes like that. I just think it's fun. :)

First off, I'd just like to say THANK YOU THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES THANK YOU. This fic was absolutely masterfully written and went a long way towards scratching the itch I've had since I had to move away from my club. I miss my partner like crazy and 'watching' Bones treat Jim the way my top treated me was beautiful. (Also, I made a LJ just so I could comment XD )

I miss my Mike so much it hurts. He was fantastic- always very sensitive about the limits I put in place and always game for anything I asked for. I'm no sub, and he always treated me like his equal. We were/are very close. I should have married that man :P
