ahead of us...except for you know how they treat women there, but i guess there are some women who think enjo kosai is liberating

Well, I had heard the same thing regarding Japanese society and women, however, I never saw any evidence of this. I'm sure that some equality does exist, but I hardly think that it rivals anything in the states really. I personally didn't see any mistreatment of women and while inequality probably does exist on some level, all societies have their problems, and certainly American society is fraught with such.
