THAT was an experience...
I'm sad to say that the man is actually quite amazing. SERIOUSLY amazing! BEYOND WORDS AMAZING!!
Between the 4 Kings of Pop in HK, I'm an Aaron Kwok fan. I like Jacky Cheung, I loathe Leon Lai, and I'm indifferent about Andy Lau, but after last night... holy crap on wheels I think I might have developed something more than indifference towards the man.
The concert was really good, despite not knowing a lot of the songs it was still quite amazing on my planet. IT was everything I had already seen in concerts and SOOOOOO much more. The lights, the effects, the blasting of confetti and ribbon stuff.. it was AWESOME!!! Sadly I was a 山頂ge朋友.. but it wasn't like the ACC. In the ACC I saw ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! It was like looking at ants, but everything was REALLY CLEAR!!! The screens were everywhere in case you couldn't see properly and gah... it was just fun. (my brother hated every minute of it though... too much noise... to many flashing lights... yadiddy yada)
Andy Lau is actually a funny and witty guy. His first speech to us was that he had 3 requests:
1) Please turn off those APhones, they distract you from everything.
2) IF you HAVE to use those APhones, at least put them down to applaud.
The third one went MIA...
Throughout the concert he interacted with the audience quite well. He's also very nice, always reminding people not to stand up, or be careful don't push. It's kinda sweet but would fans ever listen???
His outfits were not bad either, despite the fact that he had on a highlighter outfit. Said hghlighter made him look like a 黑社會 person. Also, he was shirtless with a pair of aviators. I'd expect some serious Abs from Aaron Kwok but not the rest of the 4 Kings of Pop, but there they were... Abs. Mr. Andy Lau got an 8 pack for his concert. He also had PJ's... black with white dots... PJ's. There was also an outfit that was powder blue and very reminiscent of Peter Pan. And of course, if you go to an Andy Lau concert, he has to wear a Cheongsam for his performance.
His Special Guest for the night was.......... (wait for it)......... KELLY CHAN!! I do love her, but it seems she's gained some weight since the birth of her son. They had some cute banter about "if he had a daughter they could date" or "if she gave birth to a daughter Andy could date her" sort of deal. She sang 明星 and as usual, was fantastic!
The only thing I was dissatisfied with was that there was no encore. Granted the concert started at 8:15 and didn't end till... 11 ish so they were over their time limit (I assume) so no encore -sad- but overall it was an awesome performance and I would watch him again.
