[Fanfic] A Beautiful Mess (Chapter Five)
UPDATED! Sorry that it took some again to be updated but good thing is it didn't took a month. :p There's a four-day weekend holiday here in the Philippines so I hope I can be able to write the next chapters and have an update before the holiday ends, but I'm not promising anything though. :) I hope I did well in this chapter, tell me what you think guys! CHAPTER FIVE
Matsumoto Jun arrived just in time at the Fuji TV studios in Odaiba for their scheduled VS Arashi recording today. If anyone were to ask him how this day started out, he would probably go blabbing on and on about the crazy fangirls/stalkers following him as soon as he stepped out of his house with that scary look on his face. But everything changed as soon as he spotted Izumi Yana sitting on her own in that lonely corner of Starbucks. All of a sudden, he don’t seem to mind the jealous eyes of the girls from outside that store’s window, all he wanted is to come over and see if she’s doing good now.
It’s been a month since he last saw her and he wished he can erased that image from his mind. It just makes him worry each and every day. He subtly tried to fish for updates from Ryo, in which the younger guy accused him for liking her “more than a fan”, in which Jun denies despairingly.
“If you like her and plans on asking her out someday, that’s fine with me. Just don’t take advantage of her lonely, vulnerable heart.” Those words from Ryo has been echoing in Jun’s mind along with the seriousness in the younger guy’s face while saying it, as if he’s already threatening his sempai if he will ever do something wrong to his precious, heartbroken friend. In return, Jun reassures him that he doesn’t have any intentions of pursuing Yana, that he’s just worried after seeing her helplessly lying in that hospital bed. Ryo didn’t buy it though, he just sniggered and shakes his head.
Jun tries so hard to keep his feelings to himself, especially at this stage when he’s still lost and uncertain of what he really feels about her. He’s trying to convince his mind that he just pities her situation, falling in love for the first time and getting your heart broken after two months wasn’t an easy task for anyone’s heart, he’s been there before and it wasn’t pretty at all. Every night, before he sleeps, he tells his mind how can he feel something special for this girl when in fact he doesn’t know a single thing about her other than what Ryo and Jin tells him. He only spoken to her twice, at Kouhaku’s backstage and that awkward moment in the dressing room and by far, their interactions are just purely exchange of greetings. But every time his mind starts to believe his persuasion, something in his chest starts to disagree and with that, he’s back to square one.
“Yo! Matsujun!” Aiba Masaki raised his hand for a high five as soon as Jun entered their dressing room. He surveys the place and everyone’s present already. Sakurai Sho is busy with his laptop, Ohno Satoshi is skimming through a fishing magazine and Ninomiya Kazunari is reading a script book.
“Wasurenaide.” Jun reads the front cover of Nino’s script book. “Already preparing for the drama, Nino?” he asked while exchanging a silent laugh with Sho.
Nino rolled his eyes as he put his script book down, the four guys are awaiting his reply. “We’ll have a script reading session in three days and filming will start in a week.” He says while scrunching his face with the palm of his hand. “And I haven’t even touched this until this morning.” He raised the script book to show them.
“Are you losing the will to work on that drama?” Sho asked and Nino just shrugged his shoulders.
“If you’re not up for it, just quit. You do realize that a lot of actors are going to kill for that role.” Ohno pointed out.
“Yeah right! They will kill to be with Izumi Yana! If they would just realize how much of a player that girl is! Those guys will eat out their words!” Nino flared up upon mentioning her name, the four just exchanged looks. For them, Nino talking bitter about Izumi Yana is nothing new.
“Why don’t you quit if you’re so disgusted with her?” Jun said.
“I tried! But it’s too late! And it seems like the producers are really keen with us portraying the lead roles.”
“Yeah, that’s right.” Sakai-san, Nino’s manager, entered the room and joined their conversation. “Why don’t you tell them what the producer says about you and Izumi-san.”
“Urusai! Sakai-san! Let’s not get into that!” Nino warned him with his eyes.
“Ehhh? That makes us even more curious!” Aiba is getting excited. “Tell us, Sakai-san!”
“Don’t you dare!” Nino is now up on his feet.
“Why are you so embarrassed, that’s a compliment!” Sakai-san continues to mock him.
“We are really glad that you and Izumi-san agreed to do the drama. Both of you are our first choice and we think that the two of you are good together, both on-screen and off-screen. I hope something can develop between the two of you while doing the drama.” Sakai-san tried to mimic the female producer’s voice. The four guys are holding their laughter. “Imagine his reaction after she said that. He’s about to throw up in front of her!” Sakai-san burst out in laughter while Nino tried to strangle him around his skinny arms.
“That producer-san is meddling too much! It’s the first time I encountered such producer!” Nino said, still trapping his manager in his arms.
“Obviously, she’s a fan of both you.” Sho said while closing his laptop. “It’s going to be a fun set, don’t you think? I hope you don't mind if we visit some time to see if things were developing between you and her.” he joined mocking him.
"Shut up! Not gonna happen!" Nino yells, already losing his patience.
"Come on, Nino. Just admit it, you still like her! You wouldn't be this affected if you don't!" Aiba giggled in his seat.
"Shut up all of you!" Nino rise up from his seat. "I'm sick of all this Izumi Yana talk! Don't we have any other things to talk about besides her? It's getting very annoying already!"
Amidst the fun and teasing happening inside their dressing room, Jun was just quietly watching them make fun of Nino. With the way he's acting, Jun very much know that Nino still has lingering feelings for Yana and unfortunately, he also has an unsorted feelings towards her. A feeling that needs to come to a halt soon. Nino likes her, maybe crazy about her and Jun can't dare to compete with him, he just cant.
“Please be on stand-by!” The VS Arashi producer announced with his megaphone. This is the second break for today’s filming and Jun hoped to corner Nino and talk. He’s still on his mission to help Yana with his bratty band member. He may have already given up on her but he already made a promise to help her with Nino.
“Don’t you think you’re going overboard with the whole Izumi Yana thing?” Jun lowers his voice, he wrapped an arm around Nino as they walk back to the green room.
“What are you getting on, Matsujun?” Nino lowers him voice too.
“Don’t you want a peaceful filming? Remember, you’re going to be stuck with her for three months. You can’t possibly go berserk whenever she’s around. You’re going to trouble the entire staff.” Jun reasoned out.
“Since when do you care about my co-stars and staff’s welfare?” Nino said with suspicion.
“Just worried.” Jun tries to shakes off Nino’s confusion by patting his back. “I remember that Izumi-san just came out of the hospital due to stress and fatigue. The least thing she need is a whiny, bitter co-star like you.” Jun bit lower lip as Nino shoot him a death stare before walking to the empty seats.
“I may be whiny but I’m not bitter. Not with her.” Nino calmly defends himself from Jun’s accusation. “And stress and fatigue my ass, I don’t think that’s the reason why she’s hospitalized.”
“What do you mean?” Jun alarmingly asked.
“She’s been busy the whole year last year yet she still parties and get laid with random guys, never a report about stress and fatigue.” Nino nonchalantly said.
“Your point is?” Jun is confused.
“Just take our Jimusho for example, some guys went out of the limelight saying they’re studying or resting or whatever bullshit excuse but in truth, they were hospitalized because they were beaten up in a bar fight or get involved in a DUI accident or accidentally knocked up someone.” Nino explains.
Jun nods his head a few times in understanding before he can speak again. “So what do you think happen to her?” He asks innocently.
“I dunno. Maybe alcohol addiction, drug addiction, maybe she had an abortion or something. Or worst, maybe she cut herself.” Nino tried to hush the last few words.
“You’re thinking too much!” Jun laughed. To his ears, his laugh sounds too forced. How can Nino read those kind of things too well.
“Don’t worry, I’ll ask her.” Nino told him, smirking while walking back to the set.

In a meeting room inside the Fuji TV studios, Izumi Yana is seated with the rest of the drama’s cast and staff. Opposite her is Ninomiya Kazunari, who’s acting overly cool since he entered the room an hour ago. She tried to be professional by greeting him properly but he just sniggered and walks past her.
Since Yana just went back to work just today, it’s the first time she met the cast and staff of the drama. The earlier meetings and plannings are attended by her manager in replace of her. That’s also why this is the first time she met Ninomiya Kazunari again after that unfortunate night during Kouhaku. For her, he didn’t change at all. He’s still the same cold, full-of-himself, arrogant brat.
“I’m looking forward to the first day of filming in a week’s time. Let’s all work in harmony and aim high for this project. Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu.” The director said after the script reading session ended. “Can we have word from our two lead stars, Izumi-san?” he caught Yana by surprise, she didn’t prepare a speech.
“Ano... I hope all my sempai will help me with my second shot with acting. I hope I can learn many things from everyone and I wish for a peaceful and fun working environment. Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu.” she shoot a glance at Nino whose dark eyes are on her.
“Ninomiya-san?” The director signalled Nino for his turn.
“I hope for things to go smoothly so that we can end this soon.” Nino wittily commented, causing everyone to erupt in laughter excluding Yana. “It’s a pleasure to be working with everyone, Yoroshiku!”
Soon after the speeches ended, the room was evacuated already except for some staff. Yana is about to leave when Nino blocked her way on the door.
“Izumi Yana, it’s not so nice to see you again.” Nino winked at her.
”Same to you.” Yana coldly said, stepping forward but he moved closer. Their faces are just a few inches away from touching, Yana moved back when she realized that he’s trying to electrify her with his eyes. “What do you want? I’m in a hurry so if you don’t mind, please evaporate?” she says while avoiding his eyes.
“Let’s get this over with. During takes, let’s be professional but as soon as the director yells ‘CUT!’ I don’t like you. Deal?” Nino continues to stare at her, making her more uncomfortable.
“If you don’t like me then stop staring, brat!” Yana bumped him so that she can exit the door. “Get out of the way!”
“You haven’t agreed on the deal yet.” Nino insistently followed her from behind.
“Fine! Deal!” Yana says as she continues to walk and not looking back at him. “I agreed already so stop following, brat!” she said and she stopped in front of the elevator.
“Don’t call me brat, you’re not allowed.” Nino says, leaning on the wall.
“Matsumoto-san calls you brat.” Yana said. This time, she made sure to not look at his eyes. “And I thought you don’t like me? Why are you tailing? You’re contradicting yourself.” she folds her arms on chest as she stomp her feet for the elevator doors to open.
“You talk to Jun-kun?” Nino asks, curious.
“Yes and I think it’s none of your business if we talk.” Yana said.
“By any chance, are you hitting on him?” Nino lowers his voice and Yana suddenly smacks his head.
“For your information, Matsumoto-san is anywhere far from you, perv! He’s a very nice guy who actually doesn’t jumps and kisses and traps someone inside an elevator.” Yana sarcastically said.
“Don’t be a Matsumoto Jun expert, playgirl! I know him for almost a decade now, I know him better than you do.” Nino reminded her. “And for your information, Jun-kun is also a man, he loves sex. And don’t be all conservative, you flirted first, I wouldn’t make a move on you if you’re not all ‘if you want me, tell me.’, remember that?” he smirked. He’s enjoying this, seeing her fierce and mad just makes him want to kiss her again and have a hot make up sex.
“Every male specie in this planet loves sex, you’re not a man if you don’t. What I’m saying is Matsumoto-san has class and he’s a gentleman and he respects women, not like you, brat! And oh yes! I started flirting because I thought you’re worth it. But you’re such an asshole, Ninomiya Kazunari! Friendly and nice and a sweet-talker at first and then turning cold the next minute and acting all cool and arrogant. I don’t freaking get you!” Yana flares up and the elevator door opens, it’s empty. “Don’t you dare share this elevator with me! Wait for the next one, asshole!” she pressed the close button before he can even make his way inside.
Nino was left standing alone outside the closed doors, his hands on his waist, smiling to himself at how he’s very much attracted to a furious Izumi Yana.
