[Fanfic] A Beautiful Mess (Chapter Six)

Aug 31, 2011 21:00

UPDATE! :)) I'm suppose to update this yesterday, since it's Jun's birthday but I was out of time so it's a day late.

A little author's note, I just realized while doing this chapter that I haveShirota Yuu and Yamada Yu in this story, it may get a bit misleading since they're both Yuu/Yu. lol. So Shirota's spelled "Yuu" with 2 letter 'U''s and Yamada is "Yu" with a single 'U'. I hope it doesn't mislead you guys, sorry!

Enough with my blabbing, I now give you chapter 6! I was really happy at the end of this chapter, I hope you guys will be too! *winks* Happy reading! :D

CHAPTER SIX

It’s a Friday night and Matsumoto Jun is driving his way to Oguri Shun’s house. His best friend called earlier asking him to come over and have dinner since it’s been awhile since they last hang-out. Reaching Shun’s apartment complex and going up stairs to his unit, Jun thought it’s just a usual dinner with Shun but he was surprised when the door opened.

“Jun-kun! You’re here!” Yamada Yu, Shun’s girlfriend of two years welcomed him.

“Eh? Yu-chan? There’s a… party?” Jun unknowingly asked, seeing that there are a few people walking around behind Yu’s back.

“Yes!” Yu pulls Jun inside. “Shun hasn’t told you?”

“I thought we’re just having dinner?” Jun is still lost. He wasn’t the party type of person and seeing the attendance of this one, it seems like it consists of Yu’s model friends. He couldn’t spot one of their friends.

“Maybe he just said that for you to come.” Yu grins widely at him and Jun shakes his head. “Shun! Jun is here!”

“Finally, you arrived!” Shun lightly knocks Jun’s chest. “Party time!” he hands him a bottle of beer.

“You said dinner.” Jun raised his eyebrow.

“Yes. There’s dinner here, look.” Shun points to a table full of food. Jun shakes his head again.

“Whatever!” Jun finally breaks a smile while drinking his beer.

“I also called Nino over, he says he’s coming after his filming ends.” Shun informed him.

“I bet he’ll enjoy the amazing presence of tall, attractive models here.” Jun smirks as his eyes surveys the room.

“He’s pretty excited when I told him.” Shun laughs. “But I don’t get that brat you know, he’s been working all day with everyone’s dream girl yet he still can’t wait to come over here. I really thought he’ll make a move on her already, knowing him.”

A faint smile appear on Jun’s face, Shun doesn’t have any idea yet on what happened between Nino and everyone’s dream girl last New Year’s Eve and he’s not sure if he’s willing to share it with him.

“You don’t have any idea, man.” That’s the only thing he can say.

“Eh? What do you mean? Something happened already?” Shun asked curiously.

“I don’t want you to get that from me. Just ask him when he arrives.” Jun smirks.

------

“Otsukaresama Desu!” A plenty exchange of greetings heard from the entire set as the drama filming wraps up for the day.

This is the third day of filming and so far, Yana and Nino are not giving much problems for the staff with their ‘cat and dog’ relationship except for a minor exchange of sarcasms in the parking lot when Nino tries to get her angry again during the first day of filming, which is witnessed by a few crew.

After their heated exchange during the script reading session, Nino came to a conclusion that maybe he still likes her, realizing that he loves to see the sight of her being angry and mad. He even thinks that he has developed a fetish for angry women. Something about Izumi Yana being all red and furious turns him on, it makes her even sexier in his eyes.

Nino quickly changed his clothes and stormed out of the studio set to get to Shun’s party. He arrived twenty minutes later by taxi and to his surprise, he saw a familiar girl coming out from another taxi.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Nino asked. He’s pretty happy to see her, but of course, he didn’t let it show.

“I should be the one asking you that. I’m going to a party.” Izumi Yana said, obviously irritated seeing him here.

“If you’re going to Oguri Shun’s party, I’m going there too.” Nino said, walking forward with a silly smile on his face.

“Damn it!” Yana cursed from behind before following him to the stairs.

“How do you know Shun anyways?” Nino asked as he continued walking without looking back at her.

“None of your business.” Yana coldly said. “Can you please stop asking questions regarding my personal life?”

“I’m just curious. Shun never mentioned that he knows you.” Nino said as he stopped in front of Shun’s door and rings the doorbell. He looks at her awaiting her reply but she didn’t utter a word.

“Yana! Nino!” Yu opened the door and warmly welcomed the two.

“Yu-chan!!” Yana jumped for a hug. All of a sudden, her cold attitude towards Nino is gone upon seeing Yu.

“You came here together?” Yu asked. Her tone is implying something.

“No, no!” Yana quickly said. “We just arrived at the same time.” She glared at Nino who’s smiling to himself.

“Oh.” Yu nods her head a few times. “Come in! Everybody’s waiting!”

“What are you smiling at?” Yana whispered to Nino as they followed Yu inside the house.

“Nothing.” Nino replied. “The way you denied that we arrived together amazes me. Do you hate me that much?”

“Shut up! I just don’t want her to jump into conclusions that we are hitting it on, you know.” Yana carefully puts in before anyone can hear. “And yes, I hate you that much!” she added, still with her hushed voice.

“Why would she think that way? You’re thinking things way too overboard.” Nino said, ignoring her other statement.

“Because I don’t want her to think that-” Yana stopped, as if realizing something. “Why do I need to explain myself to you?”

“You kinda started it.” Nino said.

“Well then, I’m ending it now.” Yana stuck out her tongue to him before walking away to join her friends.

From the corner of the living room, Jun and Shun are watching the two bickering since they entered the house.

“Yana’s giving him the annoyed look and he’s kinda enjoying it.” Shun commented.

Jun just let out a small laugh and continues drinking his beer, he didn’t notice how enjoyed Nino is because from the moment they appeared his eyes never left Izumi Yana. She looks a little tired, probably from filming the whole day, but he still can’t help but admire her beautiful face. His stomach felt like a million of butterflies are flying inside, his throat feels dry and a cold shiver went through his whole body.

“What the hell is this, Jun? Stop feeling this way towards her. Just fucking stop it!” His mind is silently screaming those words, pleading desperately to his heart to stop.

“You have a lot of explaining to do!” Jun heard Shun said, Nino is already in front of them. “Izumi Yana? Seriously? When did this all started? How? Have you reached home run yet?” Shun excitedly bombarded Nino with questions.

“It’s not what you think. We didn’t start off good after I kiss her inside an NHK elevator during Kouhaku. I began hating her and she began hating me until one day we found out that we’re starring in a drama together. After meeting her again, being the little brat that I am, she’s always fuming mad at me and I kinda liked it. I’m having fun annoying her and I think I’m starting to be an M because I like seeing her get mad at me or I love hearing her call me a brat or a perv. Seriously, a mad and furious Izumi Yana turns me on that I want to grab and kiss her and bring her to bed and have sex until the sun comes out.”

Nino blatantly shares his fantasies making Shun dropped his jaw in awe. Jun, on the other hand, wishes he was deaf rather than hear those words from Nino.

“So you like her? You still like her?” Shun tries to confirm.

“I don’t really know. Maybe or maybe not. It’s hard to tell.” Nino answers, Shun and Jun exchange a confused look. “She’s different, you know. Her way of thinking and the way she talks her mind kinda surprised me. I’m not in the position to evaluate her personality since we’ve only just spent two whole days together but I think her western upbringing is a big factor. She’s very different from a typical Japanese lady, she’s straightforward and frank, she laughs so loud , she voice out her opinions if she finds something wrong with the script or when she doesn’t agree with the director’s instructions, in other words, she’s very…” Nino seems to find the right word.
“Liberated?” Shun tries to fill in.

“Uhm.” Nino nods his head. “And very aggressive.” He added.

“Okay, so you don’t like someone liberated?” Shun asked.

“It’s not that. I think she’s pretty hard to manage and from the looks of it, she has relationship issues.” Nino said.

Shun nods his head up and down before talking. “From what I know about her, Yana is allergic to commitment and she has trust issues. Don’t ask me why but that’s what Yu-chan told me. Apparently, she doesn’t trust men easily.” Shun said, it was Nino and Jun’s turn to exchange looks.

“What about Akanishi and Nishikido and Yamapi, they’re all pretty close.” Jun talks for the first time in a while. What Shun said is making him even more curious.

“Yes they are. I think they are exempted from that including Shirota Yuu. They’ve been friends for a long time and from what I heard those guys are overprotective of her especially after she was hospitalized. Something tells me there’s more to that than what the public knows.”

“See? Shun and I are thinking of the same thing.” Nino told Jun, who’s starting to get uneasy in his place.

“This is a secret and don’t blab this to anyone but apparently, some guy broke her heart just recently, I think that’s the reason why she was in the hospital.” Shun whispered. “I didn’t tell this to Yu because I know she’ll go mad on me again since I promise her that I wouldn’t make any assumptions on Yana anymore but it’s been bugging me all this time. Yana used to be a happy and jolly person, always laughing and smiling and cracking jokes and she loves parties but since early this year it kinda fade away, I rarely see her on parties and events thrown by their friends and I heard from someone that she is having problems with her boyfriend. I was shocked because according to her, 'she doesn’t do boyfriends’. And then the hospital issue reached the public, Yu and I supposed to go visit her but they didn’t allow visitors. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.”

“And Yu-chan doesn’t know anything about it?” Nino asked, getting interested.

“No. It’s a kept tight top secret, I think.” Shun shrugged his shoulders.

“How did Yu-chan knew her anyways?” Nino asked.

“Yana started as a CanCam model and that’s where they met. Yu is her senpai.” Shun answers. “They’ve been good friends even before I started dating her. I met Yana at a party Yu drags me to and since then I’ve been seeing her at all the parties. She always invites us too in every party she throws. I tell you, Izumi Yana throws the best party in town, I feel like I’m in Hollywood.”

“She’s not known as a ‘party girl’ for nothing.” Nino said.

The three guys all became silent, their eyes finding Izumi Yana happily chatting and laughing with her friends from afar.

“If I were you, Nino, don’t let your emotions get entangled with her. Yana has a lot of issues going on and as much as every man is dying to get her attention, it’s better to stay away.” Shun said, not taking his eyes from her. “You too, Jun.” he added.

“Huh?” Jun was sudden by the mention of his name. “I don’t like her.” He lied again.

“I know that. I’m just saying in advance, you know.” Shun smirks as he look at him.

----

After that conversation with Shun and Nino, Jun excuse himself to get some air outside, he badly needed it. He finds himself thinking about Izumi Yana. Again. For the nth time. Sitting in a kiddie swing in the neighbourhood playground, Jun tried to sort his true feelings towards this girl. His mind says ‘no’, Shun says ‘no’ and even if Nino didn’t say anything, he’s sure that he would have also said ‘no’ but why is his heart saying otherwise?

Jun grumbled as he kicks the tiny rocks on the ground, getting frustrated at himself for caring too much about her.

“Ohhh. Angry guy. Take it easy, man.” A soft, friendly voice says from behind. Jun very much knows who owns that voice. He looks up and just like that, all his questions, worries and frustrations were taken away by her warm smile.

“Sorry.” Jun said, taking his eyes away from her. He looked down instead and brushed off his hair.

“Here, have this.” Yana offered him a beer bottle. “I took a few sips, though.” She added.

Jun took it and gulped it down. “Are you allowed to drink already?” he asked.

“No.” Yana said, a guilty smile appear on her face. “But it helps. Especially during the nights where depression and loneliness haunts me and never allows me to sleep.” She said, taking a seat on the swing beside him.

Jun looks at her, her face were slightly covered by her long hair but it doesn’t keep him from seeing the sadness in her eyes. “Are you okay now?” he asked, full of concern.

Yana chuckled in response. “I know, stupid question, right?” Jun said, realizing how lame his question is.

“Do you want honest answer?” Yana challenges.

“Am I worthy of an honest answer?” Jun asked.

“I think so.” Yana smiled.

“Okay then. Are you okay now?” Jun asked again.

“No I’m not.” Yana answered. “It still hurts like hell and what’s even worse is that I need to appear strong for everyone. For my mom, for Eri, for my friends. I don’t want them to worry about me again because I know they suffered so much seeing me fighting for life in that hospital bed. I said to myself that I should move on but I learned that moving on takes enormous time and effort.”

Jun thinks that it took her a lot guts to get that out her chest. “You’re a strong person, I can see that. If it were some other girls, they would probably cry their hearts out talking about what you just talk about but you didn’t, right?”

“Crying. I told myself I would never do that again.”

“That’s great motivation. It’s a start but before you begin looking out for your mom, or your manager or your friends, it’s best to start doing it for yourself first.”

Yana didn’t answer, she’s digesting what he meant by that.

“Okay, to make it more simple, I’ll ask you questions and you answer me honestly. Game?” Jun said and Yana nods approvingly.

“Do you think you deserve this? Everything he did to you?” Jun starts questioning.

“No.” Yana answers right away.

“That’s right. You deserve way better.” Jun encouragingly says, making her smile. “Next question, are you just gonna let him affect you like this?”

“Of course not!” Yana answers, shaking her head.

“So don’t let him in. You know depression and loneliness that always visits you at night?” Jun asked and she nods her head in understanding. “That’s him, in disguise. Don’t let him visit you and haunts you. Make him see that happiness is your new best friend.”

Yana let out her cheery laugh at Jun’s analogy and Jun is pleased to see it.

“Next question?” Jun asked and Yana nods with a smile. “Are you gonna let happiness come into your life?”

“Of course. I’ll gladly welcome him or her into my life and probably never let go.” Yana answers.

“That’s good to hear. Just be happy, you have a life ahead of you and a blossoming career, I must say.” Jun commented and Yana nods her head.

“Thank you, Matsumoto-san. I never had this kind of talk since I came out of the hospital and it really helps me a lot.” Yana said.

“Just call me Jun. And you’re welcome.” Jun smiled.

“Okay then, just call me Yana then. Izumi-san is too formal it makes me really uneasy.” Yana laughs.

“Sure… Yana.” Jun said, the butterflies in his stomach are starting to fly around again. “How’s Nino, by the way?” he tried looking for other topics.

“That brat?” Yana makes a face that got Jun laughing. “He loves annoying me to death. He’s like an elementary student, seriously. With his short height and the way he dresses like a geek and how he always carries that DS around.” Jun began laughing really hard at how she describes Nino. “I’m serious!” Yana began laughing too.

“I know! That’s just spot on, you know.” Jun said. “Just don’t let him affect you. He can be really annoying but that’s his way of making you close to him, trust me.” His phone starts ringing on his pocket and he picks it up to read the message. “Speaking of the devil.” He laughs. “He’s looking for me, I told him that I’ll give him a ride home and he thought I already left.” He stood up from the swing. “Let’s go back?” he asked, Yana nods and stood up from her seat.

“Hey, Jun-kun?” Yana smiled shyly. Jun felt his cheeks blushing, good thing that it’s kinda dark.

“Yes?” Jun answered.

“Thank you, really. I appreciate everything you did today.” Yana said.

“No problem. I’m happy to help.” Jun assures her.

“Can I ask for another thing?” Yana asked, unsure.

“Sure, what’s that?” Jun said.

“Can I get a hug?” Yana asked, she was never this embarrassed for asking for a hug in her life.

Jun chuckles bashfully before he held out his arms to her, welcoming her inside. Yana slowly moves closer until he wraps his arms around her, hugging her tightly as if he never wants to let her go. As if telling his mind that this is all he wanted, this is all he needed and this time, he already knows for sure.

In that dark, quiet playground, Yana found comfort in Matsumoto Jun’s arms, a comfort she’s been looking for all this time of sorrow and misery. A comfort she never expected to find in the arms of this man she barely knew.

*Depression & Loneliness is not an original. I took it from Eat, Pray, Love. Haha!

Another Author's note, I decided to finish this fic first before continuing with my other Jun fic (JunXRina) because I find it really hard to write about Jun in two different fics. And because this fic has been on my mind for a very long time and I already have a very clear view on what will happen until the end. With the Jun&Rina one, I still don't know how will that one go, honestly. But don't fret! I will finish it too, no worries! :))
