When did you get into art?
My mom was drawing [and gaming... and reading... and fangirling...] since I was still in the womb and beyond, so I've been all about that shiz since forever. I started "pursuing" art in maybe eighth grade, though.
What art-related sites have you ever signed up for?
Probably a bit of everything at some point --I join everything and am active in, like, two things. dA and PixiV at the moment, though I don't post anything on the latter [it's just for stalking artists, hurhur.]
Show us your oldest piece of art you have on hand.
I accidentally deleted the "My Pictures" folder from my computer about two weeks ago.
[This] is the oldest thing I have at hand [sans having to scan the doodles in my shoebox or having to dig through 20k's worth of unorganized, semi-recovered image files.]
What defines your artistic style?
Two predominant styles: chibis with long limbs, and chibis that resemble limb-less mushrooms.
Do you practice other styles/have you tried other styles in the past?
Hai. It hurts me... except when I'm just drawing for fun, and then I realize that it's actually turning out pretty good. And then I get anxious of messing it up, and freak out, flip a table, and flee for the hills.
What levels of artistic education have you had?
I'm self taught. I took art class once in high school, but I've mostly forgotten the techniques from back then. Also, my limbed chibis are influenced from Todacharm, and she's cool with it, but there has never been lessons, only doodle sessions during our reunions. :P
Show us at least one picture you drew or sketched recently that you did not put on a public site.
Does Photobucket count as a public site? Because, I don't know, I make 90% of my posts there private. I drew
[this] in an attempt to use up scrap paper, a dying sharpie, and to practice at the same time. The hair and bow-tie remind me of Dr. Who for some reason.
What is your favourite piece that you have done?
[x] I started freaking out when I realized that it was actually turning out well.
What is your least favourite piece that you have done?
I have too many that I dislike to decide. *facepalm*
What do you like most about your art?
Making outfits. Coloooors. I'm not answering this correctly, am I? Uh, sentiment?
What do you like least about your art?
Having to draw them when they aren't turning out right. Symmetry and fingers and feet.
Have you ever considered taking commissions?
I've done it a couple of times.
Are you looking to pursue a career in art?
Aha, nah, it's just for fun/for making OC references.
What do you like drawing the most?
Witches and monster-boys [including nagas]. Also colorful things. And eyes.
What do you like drawing the least?
Limbs. Hands. Feet. Boobs.
Do you draw more fanart or original art? If fanart, what fandom do you draw the most of?
Original art, yep. I draw fan art sometimes, but not much. Uhh, drew a bunch of KofK art when I was still active there. And I draw Bakura [Yu-Gi-Oh!] fan art every now and again. I haven't seen the series in forever, but I like drawing Bakura, aha.
What would you absolutely refuse to draw?
Gore? IDK, stuff that squicks me.
What is your purpose for drawing?
Mostly for fun, sometimes because I need OC refs, sometimes for gift purposes, or a self-declaration as a fan of something.
What medium/program do you use the most in your art?
Photoshop, at the moment. I went through traditional paper and pencil in the beginning, and oekaki for a long time. Also, I like using Paint every now and then, but I'll try any medium/program at least once, yeah.
How would you rank your art? (poor, mediocre, good, etc.)
IT...IS... ACCEPTABLLLLLLLLLEEEEEE!!!
Do you believe there is such thing as “bad art?”
"Bad" being a descriptive adjective that varies depending on opinion, yes. "Bad" from certain moral/cultural viewpoints, yes. If there is a standard that leans towards "good" there must be something "bad" to counter it.
List at least one of your “artspirations.”
Most notably, Miyamoto Kano and yaichino. My art looks nothing like theirs though; I just like to bask in awe of their art, aha.
What do you think you could stand to improve on?
EVERYTHING. Mostly non-chibi art. And shading. And clothes folds.
Do you have a shameful art past? (recolour sprite comics, tracing art, etc.)
I've traced art before...but I'm not ashamed? I mean, I never posted it, never claimed that it was anything more than a trace, and I liked how it looked. Never ashamed of anything about my art, but I've been embarrassed by the lack of skills pretty regularly...
Draw a picture!
Not today! *flies off into the sun... sunset...sun...*
