Last Friday night's concert was incredible- in many ways. It seems that we're getting a system down pat. We used to meet at our house at 2, load up all the equiment, get the building at 4 and begin to set up. We would open the doors just before 7pm, barely having finished setting up the equipment. This time, I walked into the storage area at 2

a lot of old speakers are rated for RMS where as many new speakers advertise their peak power load/performance.

Furthermore, there is much more hype in today's market. So a speaker may be able to handle a 1,000 watt load but only sound good at 500 watts.

In the 70's this was not the case. People wanted "good sound" and so the watt ratings were geared more toward sound quality than marketing.

Hence, those 200watt 1970's units may outperform many modern speaks of much higher wattage ratings.

It's actually the amp itself that I'm talking about. We've used the same speakers for years now. The RMS is much lower than what I said. Though still disproportionate to which amp should give out the most volume.

Just over 200 showed up. And that's with the homecoming game going on, and Austin City Limits Festival starting that same night. we were suprised.

That's great, especially considering what all else was going on that night!

We split our Sunday group some weeks back cause it was too big... now Brian tells me we need to split it again cause it's gotten too big. And our Wednesday group got moved to Tuesday due to scheduling. But things are going real well here... we've got 3 new people coming on Tuesday, and had another new couple on Sunday just this week. :)
