[Renato was crossing the bridge near CB1 when he felt the bridge shake slightly. Confused, he looked over to locate the cause. Could have been just a retarded large fish, but he sees a mermaid instead. When did they get a merma--...pfff bwahahaha]

Straight. [Faint scowl.] I'm not exactly used to navigating with a tail, and mermaids move fast. I'm doing better than I was. Bridge kinda took me by surprise.]

There's your problem. Rivers don't flow in a straight path. Then again, I suppose mermaids are more natural in the sea.
