[She spends most of the day out by the orchard-- sitting on the cottage roof, actually, staring out across the snow-covered orchard, wind whipping her hair into her face.  Not that she's noticed.  Nami isn't exactly sulking brooding, but... the events of yesterday have brought back home the sort of situation they're in.  Gilded or not, a prison is ( Read more... )

I'd like to go home with everyone, so.. it would be a good thing if everyone could go home, right?

[Normally Nami'd take heart at that response, but the way it's phrased...]

You'd think so. Are you new to Luceti?

I've been here since.. [ it actually takes her a few moments to think of when exactly. ]

... November.

Does that mean I'm new..?

Well, pretty new. But you've already weathered one experiment, right?

Luceti's home to a lot of people from a lot of times and places. Some of them aren't actually ... alive at home, anymore.

... There was an experiment?

[ Kotomi is totally oblivious to everything forever, even if she was a part of said experiment. ]

But if people aren't alive at home anymore, how could they be taken to this place alive?

[She grins a little at that first part. But she only answers the second.]

They get taken at the moment of their death. Or just before it, I think. So they have nothing to look forward to at home.

I see.. ... That's a little sad. [ she nods, apparently having decided that now. ]

Maybe they could go home with other people instead.

Be nice, wouldn't it? Who knows, we might still find a way to do that.

Maybe we could just go ask the Malnosso if there's a way for everyone to go home together, whichever home they want.. I'm sure that would make everyone the most happy, after all.

We could try. The worst they can do is laugh at us, I guess.

[The best they'll do is tell them flatly it can't be done, but Nami doesn't have the heart to point that out.] The trouble is getting hold of one of them to ask.

D-do you really think they'd laugh at us? That means the Malnosso are bullies.. [ her voice trails off a little - this one doesn't deal well with bullies, whole complex about it and all. ]

... Don't you think we could talk to them over the journals? Or maybe their headquarters are somewhere here..

The Malnosso are bullies. [Blunt. And then she softens her tone, because she can guess that's not very pleasant news.]

But not all of them. Unfortunately, their headquarters are outside the barrier. But you might get a response if you talk on the journals.

[...ah. Now she feels kinda guilty.]

Well, if you ask to speak to Catherine, he's not a bully. He just seems like a nice old man.

[ oh, now that's something she is willing to believe - she thought a certain old man was a bully too, but he ended up being nice, so this is possible too. ]

Really? He won't be a bully to me at all..?

Catherine won't, no. I'm not sure he's got a bullying bone in his body.
