Character name: Marluxia
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Timeline: Post Death
Age: Roughly 23
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: Like all Nobodies, he can teleport from one location to another by traveling through the darkness that lies between the worlds. Somewhat unique to him, he can move supernaturally fast, moving short distances within a blink of an eye.
Also like all other Nobodies, he can summon a weapon that he is a master at using. His weapon is the scythe, which, in addition to working like a traditional scythe, can be thrown and returned like a boomerang, and shots off waves of magenta light.
He also has the ability to command weaker Nobodies by his force of will, sending what are basically mindless creatures to do his bidding. While it’s never expressly demonstrated in the series, the fact that it seems to be a common practice among other members of Organization XIII would imply that he is capable of doing it, as well.
Particularly unique to Marluxia is his command over flowers, specifically using their petals to slice enemies apart in a tunnel of pink (and likely pleasant-smelling) death. He can also “curse” opponents, creating a magical timer that counts down their lives, and can only be defeated by buying time back by beating it out of him.
How would they use their abilities?:
Marluxia is an enormous cheat. He hates fair fights, and will do whatever it takes to prevent himself from having to fight one, from the traditional techniques such as throwing waves after waves of expendable minions after his opponents, to less traditional methods of cheating at the very rules upon which the world is based in. In his final encounter with Sora, he has an attack that literally slaps cards out of his hands, cards being the weapon of choice in Castle Oblivion. Playing an impromptu game of 52-card pickup meant that Sora wold literally be unable to fight or defend himself outside of a dodge-roll. Combined with his habit of wearing a hood if at all possible, he uses his ability to move in the blink of an eye to disorient and confuse his victims, keeping them off balance and unable to ascertain his true identity.
When absolutely forced into fighting, he uses his abilities to keep his opponent at a distance, throwing his scythe and using the storm of petal blossoms to keep others too far away to launch an attack.
Appearance:
Marluxia is an adult male, roughly 5'10". While not “large” per se, he is certainly well-built, with a strong, muscle-packed frame. He stands to his full height, puffing out his chest and throwing his shoulders back, indicating his intense pride in himself. Despite his masculine figure and his strong, deep voice, his features are delicate and almost feminine. His hair, pink and petal-like, frames his face, obscuring his strong jaw and instead featuring his full lips and sharp blue eyes, framed by thick black lashes. Despite his feminine looks, the lack of kindness in his face sharpens all of his features, making him seem distantly cruel, like a distant, otherworldly royal subject, looking down upon everything else with the detached disdain of one who is forced to deal with that which is plebeian constantly. He typically wears the all-black uniform of Organization XIII, opting to often hide his features using the attached hood, though it’s more likely because he enjoys to appear sneaky or mysterious than from any embarrassment from his appearance. This assessment is further aided in the fact that whenever he chooses, flower petals follow his actions, drawing attention to any motions that he wants people to pay attention to, which always seems to occur when he throws back his hood to expose his face.
Background/Personality: Marluxia is a Nobody, part of what remains of a person who loses his heart to a Heartless, a little monster created of Darkness.* It is never expressly stated who Marluxia was before he lost his heart, but he has made it clear that it doesn’t matter to him. As far as he’s concerned, he is the only thing that ever existed, and to get his heart back would undoubtedly destroy himself. He was recruited into Organization XIII, an order of other powerful Nobodies by Xigbar, the second member of the order, and was anointed as the eleventh member, an identity that is entrenched so deeply at the core of their members that other members use their names and their numbers to describe one another interchangeably. Both of his names, and his title “The Graceful Assassin” were likely bestowed upon him by Xemnas, the leader of the order. Marluxia immediately viewed the other members of the Organization, with Xemnas in particular, as obstacles to be overcome in order to earn his liberty and his rightful place as the most powerful Nobody in existence. Judging from the later willingness to throw away the lives of those put under his command, it is unlikely he truly cares for the lip service and hollow ceremony of the Organization, but rather, saw it as something that needed to be utterly destroyed. He quickly found an ally in Larxene, a member who joined immediately after him. He took no time getting her under his wing, and together, they talked about making their plans to overthrow the Organization. Their chance came in the collision of several different events: The creation of the 13th Nobody, Roxas and the re-unification of Sora, the person he used to be, Sora’s defeat of the Xehanort’s heartless, the person who Xemnas used to be, and his appointment to be the administrator of Castle Oblivion, a holding of the Organization that had special properties in regards to the memories of heart-bearers. Having just met Roxas, the 13th a couple of days before, he was shown first-hand the power of the keyblade, the only weapon that could permanently destroy a heartless and release a heart, which ultimately all coalesce into the great light in the darkness that never was, the titular Kingdom Hearts. Immediately, Marluxia and Larxene threw together a plan: Lure Sora to the Castle, separate him from his friends, force him to climb to the top, and use the quasi-member of the Organization, Namine, to re-write Sora’s memories, turning him into their slave by the time he reaches the top. The plan might have worked, if the pair hadn’t thrown themselves into it so hastily. The major flaw, second only to his arrogance, would be Marluxia’s impulsiveness. While he is clever, he is also impatient. The plan was half-cocked, and thrown into even greater chaos when Larxene blurted their plans to Axel, a double-agent planted by Xemnas’ right hand man Saix, in order to cause discord and destroy the members that had been sent to the Castle in order to gain more power for himself. Larxene had basically given Axel a gift-wrapped way to destroy not only their plans, but take down all of the members of the Castle in the chaos. When he discovered that Axel apparently knew about the plans, he decided to “force” Axel to destroy another member of the Organization to prove his loyalty to their rebellion, not realizing that Axel had carte-blanche to kill anyone he wanted to. The victim, Vexen was forced into an unwinnable position by Marluxia: Fight and kill Sora, or be killed immediately for being a traitor. Vexen, cowed by Marluxia’s superior might, went and fought Sora in order to save his own skin, and then attempted to betray Marluxia and the Organization both by telling Sora the truth about what happened after he lost his heart, letting Axel have the opportunity to stab him in the back. Content in Vexen’s death, and Axel’s apparent loyalty, Marluxia prepared for the final confrontation, leaving Sora to kill Larxene off and Axel to turn Namine against him, being taken by surprise by the Axel’s betrayal and Namine’s rebellion. He escaped Axel’s attack by taking Namine as a human shield and leaving him behind to fight Sora, who had taken that opportunity to arrive. Now, with nothing left, he had to fight Sora to win his own life, a fight he would ultimately fail.

*I’m still playing my way through BBS, I’m very early in the game. If things change, I’ll either make a note of it, or do a character review, depending upon what changes, and how severely it would affect the parts of the Kingdom Hearts story Marluxia’s actually involved in.

Why should that character be in this game: For OCs only.

Why do you want to continue their history here: When we see Marluxia, he’s reached as high as he can get in the Organization, overstepped his bounds, and paid the price. We aren’t treated to watching his desperate scrabble to get there, nor even really him doing much of anything else except for the training missions he takes Roxas on just before he goes to Castle Oblivion. He’s back-stabbing, conniving, and will do his absolute best to get to the top of his situation. He might seem reliable at first, working to facilitate the work of the group to ingratiate himself within that group, but sooner or later (and more likely sooner), he will turn on the people as soon as he thinks he can turn it into his benefit.
There are also members of the Organization already in Gargleblasted. He, of course, blames them for his failures, so if given the opportunity, he will go out of his way to punish them for having the audacity to stand in his way.

Have you read up on how the game works?:
The flaminggerret computer program, missions go up in difficulty and pay-scale a la Final fantasy Tactics, you can steal if you’re prefer, or mooch if you have someone who would be willing to help you out.

[Marluxia is lounging in his quarters, his heels kicked up on the bed and his arms behind his head, propping him up while he tips a chair precariously on two legs. It’s as if he is physically incapable of not being smug unless someone’s jammed something between his ribs. ]
I’ve come upon the realization today that really, we all spend a vast amount of our experienced time in the bleakness of space. The lack of a heart clarifies such a statement, though even without a heart, we find ourselves struggling to cling to anything to keep us away from the void.
[he scoffs quietly, his bangs fluttering a bit.]
It isn’t the void that we are trying to avoid though, is it? It is the inevitable confrontation with ourselves that gives us such pause, such discomfort and angst. We cannot stand ourselves, our own company, the proof of what we could have become if fate had perhaps been kinder to us, or if we were not so wrapped up in our own foolishness.
[He takes a hand from behind his head, gesturing limply at the camera].
Look at me, talking to a box, posing metaphorical questions to what is ostensibly an empty room, as if it might dull the quiet ache that I always suffer.

3rd person sample: Pain. Unrelenting pain. This was greater than the dull ache that he had learned to ignore since he came to be, that ache in his heart that was the totality of the Nobody’s existence. All of his limbs ached, like they had been stretched out of their sockets.
But none of that was important. He didn’t really know what was anymore, except for making the hurt go away. He looked back to his opponent, gritting his teeth, not even noticing that he had bitten his cheek until it bled until the scent of copper was on his lips, which he quickly licked away, carefully gauging his steps as the boy gauged his own. Some kind of distraction, some sort of diversion, and he could perhaps take that potion he had in his pocket, that one that he put in there in the event that one of the other Nobodies got a lucky stab at his back. Never mind that he hadn’t expected Axel to betray him so quickly, a scant few days ago, he didn’t consider any of this to have been a possibility: the keybearer, his Lordship over Castle Oblivion, the speed with which he and Larxene had to put together a plan in order to defeat The Superior...
He dodged a dashing strike from the youth, stepping and dancing backwards delicately, unaware of the mad rictus that had spread across his features, teeth grinding, lips tight, eyes blazing. He was distracted, and this distraction almost cost him.
It wasn’t that he had underestimated Sora, per se, it was more that he had underestimated everything else in the Castle. Namine’s courage, Larxene’s lack of judgement, Axel’s sheer gall, Vexen’s pettiness... He wasn’t going to go down like he did, not like a dog. At this point, he didn’t believe himself to be going at all. If Sora had to die... then so be it. He wanted many things, the selfish bastard that he was, but foremost among them all, he wanted to live. He moved in recklessly, charging to bring Sora up and in, to lock him into a certain stance before shifting direction entirely, dancing away far enough. His body trembled, though he was certain the he was the only one who would have noticed, but he managed to call forth a portal to the next chamber, a great door standing between safety and the chamber they were in now. With as much dignity as he could muster, he slipped through, leaving Sora alone on the field. The pain was still there, came back even stronger now, now that he wasn’t focused on anything else, and he nearly toppled right there, right in the doorway of his safe haven, but he stood, leaning heavily upon his scythe, like it were a cane, and hobbled to the far side of the room, ready to make appearances. He nearly dropped the bottle as he opened it up, letting the potion knit his broken skin back together and push his blackening bruises back to a dull yellow. It wasn’t perfect, full, but it would have to do for now. Sora wouldn’t be arriving for at least a few moments, and by then, Marluxia would appear as if nothing had ever happened to him at all.
