It does, in fact, come to pass that Mikoto and Keiji aren't able to see each other outside of band stuff for a few days. And as they had discussed the last time this happened, when Mikoto finds himself unable to sleep on the 4th night, well. He's had enough. There's no text suggesting Keiji's coming over to his place, so after work he heads on over to the model's house. He lets himself in with the key, trying to be quite quiet as probably everyone's already in bed and asleep.
He heads to Keiji's room, hoping he doesn't end up giving his boyfriend too much of a fright. He heads to the side of the bed and contemplates how to do this. Without touching the bed or his boyfriend, he tries speaking first, saying, "Keiji-kun?"
He's not expecting much of a result but it seems worth a try.
To be honest, Keiji had been starting to feel the severe lack of Mikoto in bed next to him after so many days too, but he had been so exhausted after his later-than-normal shoot that day, that he'd come home, eaten the food Kaiya had prepared in the slow cooker, done the most basic of other necessities, then passed out in his bed at an exceptionally early 7pm. So, when Mikoto arrived, he had been asleep for a good many hours.
Unfortunately, that didn't mean he was all that close to waking, and all the sound of his name did was cause him to turn over in his sleep so that he was facing the bassist rather than the wall.
Ok, so. No easy road here. He's well aware that Keiji could have an instinctual, negative reaction, so he does every step slowly. He lifts up the blanket just enough for him to settle his bottom on to the edge of the bed. He pauses again, then gets his legs under the bed and lies down. The process has his heart up in his chest. He wants to hold Keiji -- to be held by Keiji! But he doesn't want to freak his boyfriend out either. He hasn't touched the other man at all.
The initial dip in the bed had Keiji immediately, and completely, wide awake, but absolutely still. If he was still, maybe nothing would happen. He wasn't *aware* enough in his sudden wakefulness to register who was in his bed, or even where and when he was, but instinct had taken over entirely. When the figure moved slowly to lay down, Keiji barely allowed himself to breathe, eyes screwed shut as tightly as possible, body as still as he could make it, as his heart galloped in his chest. If he was just still, if he just didn't move, he would be okay. Nothing would happen. He would be safe. He repeated it over and over in his brain, willing it to be true.
Mikoto is still, nervous. They had discussed that it was ok for him to try them, but they both knew that they couldn't really account for Keiji's reaction. The blond pulls the covers back up, definitely wanting to be in the bed proper. He tries to convince himself that just lying here is enough, but it isn't. Knowing his boyfriend is so close -- hell he can smell the man's shampoo, he craves more of that comfort. Gingerly, he shifts closer, and reaches an arm out to drape over Keiji. He has no idea that he's already woken the other man up.
When that other body lifted the covers and moved closer, Keiji's breath stopped entirely, his thundering heart leaping into his throat even as he stayed statue still in the bed. When that arm draped over him, a shudder of fear went straight through him, and he couldn't stop his body from recoiling in fear and revulsion. He was sure that that arm was going to tighten now, trap him, force him. There was no more pretending that it would go away, no more staying silent and still and waiting for nothing to happen. It was going to happen. He had to be quiet, quiet... Kaiya was in the next room. He couldn't make a sound. He shuddered again, waiting for the worst to come.
The blond definitely, definitely notices that shudder. and Mikoto understands shock, fight or flight -- or freeze, which seems to be what Keiji is doing. He hadn't been planning on doing any more than this arm anyways, but is worried that further movement, even to retract it, might cause more stress. "Keiji-kun. I'm sorry, it's me. It's just me."
Mikoto's voice broke the spell on the vocalist. He recognized it. He knew that beloved voice. And it was nothing like his father's. The fear... just suddenly drained out of him, and he sagged to the mattress with a cry of utter relief. His breath came back suddenly in shuddering gasps, and he reached, blindly, for the blond, needing to feel for sure that it was Mikoto, and not some kind of trick of his brain.
"I'm sorry," Mikoto replies. Even though they'd discussed before that this could happen and that it was ok for him to try, it's still a horrid feeling knowing that he'd scared Keiji like this. He's too nervous to move, letting Keiji do whatever he needs to. "It's just me. I-- I missed you, and I couldn't sleep, and...."
It took a moment for Keiji to have the breath he needed to make words, but when he did, he whispered over and over, "It's okay. It's okay. It's okay." Though whether he was reassuring himself, or responding to Mikoto's apology, it was hard to tell. He did curl right into Mikoto's body, though, needing that warm, solid comfort, the familiar scent of the other man's soap and shampoo.
Now that Keiji is speaking, and curling into him, he lets his arms encircle the younger man more thoroughly, holding him tight. Despite Keiji's assurances, he can't help but feel guilty. Was his own comfort and sleep worth this kind of stress?
When Mikoto's arms went securely around him, Keiji relaxed even further and just buried his nose in the hair near the other man's neck, just breathing it all in. After another couple of minutes of quiet broken only by whispers of 'it's okay', Keiji gave a deep sigh and admitted, "I missed you too. I only fell asleep tonight because I literally passed out." Yes, he'd had a shock, and a huge load of stress, but now that he was properly *awake*, and in the present, his heart rate was going back to normal and he was almost back to okay again. Really, this was no worse than waking from a nightmare. Better, really, since Mikoto was there for him to cling onto and feel safe with after.
Sensing that his boyfriend has largely calmed down, he nuzzles the younger man's head gently. "You had a big shoot today, right?" He starts letting one of his hands run gently up and down Keiji's back, not realizing yet that his boyfriend is actually glad he's there, over all.
Keiji smiled faintly at that sweet nuzzle, then nodded slightly at the question. "Yeah... I got to sleep in a bit because it was a later shoot, but it was still, like, 7 hours and barely any lunch provided." He responded, relaxing even more as they talked about completely normal things and not rehashing his reaction.
"I know they like models skinny but it's criminal how often you don't really get to eat on shoot," Mikoto insists, although it's not exactly a new situation or new opinion. It does keep getting brought up each time he's reminded of the situation. He can sense Keiji relaxing, which helps him to feel somewhat less guilty about selfishly coming over and waking his boyfriend up.
"I mean, it's not uncommon for models to have eating disorders, so I'm not sure if it's that they're actively discouraging us from eating, or if they're just used to models *not* eating." Keiji responded. Not that either reason was good or acceptable, but it *was* an open secret of the industry that model's used the bathroom pretty often after eating, whether they were purging or using laxatives. It was only if a model ended up in hospital, or cost the company money with abnormal dentistry needs to fix their acid-ruined teeth, that anyone pretended to care and 'try to get help' for that model. "Thankfully, Kaiya had dinner ready when I got home so I could just eat, then crash."
Mikoto nods, glad that Keiji seems to keep his figure largely due to a reduced stomach size and not any weird diet -- and yes, the reasons behind that stomach size are not good ones, but at least it's working out for him in the present, "What a good little sister, ne~"
"She really is. I... I wish I knew how to thank her for being the best little sister there is. She should really have been able to be a little idiot like the other girls in her class, but she's not. She's responsible, and helpful, and just..." He sighed, not really knowing what else he wanted to say about Kaiya. "But I also need to thank Setsuna-san. It's thanks to that slow cooker and his cooking lessons that she's gotten so confident, and good, at making food." He knew that his sister wasn't really interested in cooking exactly, and she really wasn't *creative* in the kitchen, but he knew she wanted to be helpful, and she was making healthy, freezable meals in large batches that made use of the food they got into the house, and that was all he could ask for. That it also tasted good was incredible, in his opinion.
"You're not alone," Mikoto muses gently. Keiji had shielded Kaiya from so much, and taken so much onto his own young shoulders, but more and more he has a support network he can count on. Setsuna had done those things for Kaiya basically for this purpose. To make easy, good tasting food even out of the cheapest things from the store. He kisses Keiji's forehead. He knows that Kaiya knows the sacrifices Keiji's made for her, so she probably feels like this is the least she can do, honestly.
Keiji smiled at that kiss and opened his eyes to look at Mikoto, offering him another small smile. "I'm glad you came over." He stated and gave the other man a hug. "Are you tired now?" He asked, willing to close his eyes and work on going back to sleep if the answer was yes, but also awake enough to stay up and talk if the answer was no. He just didn't want Mikoto to be staying up if he was tired. Honestly, the model had no idea what time it was right now. Middle of the night was about his only clue.
The blond blinks, surprised to hear that he was welcome -- given the scare it had given Keiji. Sounding uncertain, he asks, "Despite the scare?"
Mikoto certainly was tired, but he had wanted to make sure Keiji was feeling better before attempting to sleep. He isn't about to get ready for sleep until he has an answer to that question though.
Keiji nodded in response to the question. "It did scare me, though I think it was because you were trying to be so stealthy? Like... I woke up, and I didn't know where, or when I was, and all I saw was a dark shape trying to sneak into my bed. And... I froze like I used to. To make it seem like I was still asleep. So he'd maybe go away... I think, next time, as soon as you settle on the bed, talk to me? Let me hear your voice? I didn't realize I was still so... sensitive to the bed dipping like that." He admitted. He knew he *had* been sensitive in the past, but nothing had caused him to test that sensitivity in years.
Mikoto tilts his head, considering. He'd been trying not to wake Keiji, but it looks like it had backfired as instead he'd come across as someone with no right to be there, "I did try to talk to you before I climbed in, but -- yeah I can definitely talk more next time." The most reassuring thing for him is Keiji being able to talk clearly about the situation, without seeming to go back into any kind of distress. "Wanna go back to sleep then?"
"Sorry, I think I probably didn't wake up until you sat down on the bed. I was really tired, and was probably completely out until that jolted me physically out of sleep. But... it ultimately wasn't worse than nightmares I've had. And... you were here after, to hold me, and let me know it wasn't real, it wasn't happening, I was safe." Keiji explained further, not wanting Mikoto to feel like it was all his fault. "Plus side... we found out what the worst case was, and I think next time it'll be okay? Even if I wake up with that same mentality, I hope that you telling me it's just you will deflate the fear immediately?" He definitely didn't want to never try it again. He wanted to be able to just have Mikoto come into his bed at any time and it be okay. The question about sleep seemed to answer his earlier question, though. "Yeah, I can go back to sleep." He responded, not really saying he *wanted* to go back to sleep, because he really could go either way right now, but happy to work on doing so if his boyfriend was ready for sleep now.
The blond honestly was feeling guilty, and selfish. Giving his boyfriend a bad start just because he wanted a comfier sleep was not a good look, after all. The revelation that it's similar to nightmares, but with the added bonus of having the one you love there to snuggle with you after? That definitely makes him feel better about it. That and Keiji making plans for next time. With that, Mikoto promises, "Next time, I'll just talk to you the whole time. Until you tell me to shut up and go to sleep."
The whole reason Mikoto had come was being exhausted and unable to get to sleep, so he definitely needs sleep. He just also needs Keiji's arms around him to achieve sleep. He wriggles around in Keiji's arms -- a familiar tactic, by now, to get into their 'sleeping position', -- then yawns before closing his eyes. "Then, goodnight, Kei-kun."
That promise brought a light laugh from the singer. "Sounds good." He responded, then smiled as the blond wiggled around to get into the familiar sleeping position. Once they were both comfortable, he pressed a soft kiss to the back of Mikoto's head. "Night Miko-kun." He agreed, closing his eyes and settling in to sleep again. Truly, it felt so much better having the other man in his arms than sleeping in an empty bed alone.
It's honestly more like the wee hours of the morning than the middle of the night, as the blond finally gets to sleep, and given how early Keiji had initially gone to bed the night before? There's basically no chance of the blond being the first to wake. But he gets to sleep so quickly after settling in with Keiji, even though it had been such a struggle the previous night, so he'd definitely made the correct choice coming over.
Whether it was that Keiji was just that exhausted from the day before, or the stress in the middle of the night had affected him more than he'd anticipated, Keiji didn't get up anywhere near as early as he normally would, so he was still completely asleep when Kaiya woke up. Normally he would have had breakfast going by then, so the girl was truly confused at the very non-breakfast smelling apartment when she got up and headed for the bathroom.
Once she was done showering and doing the rest of her morning routine, hair mostly blow dried, dressed, and mostly ready for the day, Kaiya was shocked that Keiji still wasn't up. She frowned and headed out of her room, about to head to the kitchen, when her eyes caught on something at the genkan. Were those... Mikoto's shoes? She headed on over to the edge of the genkan, then smiled. Looked like she had some idea why her brother wasn't awake yet~ But when had Mikoto gotten here? *She* had gone to bed later than Keiji last night! Curious, she headed toward her brother's bedroom and knocked on the door. "Ummm.... Keiji? Miko-chan? Are you guys... uh... dressed?" She asked, definitely wanting to know how many people to make breakfast for, but not really wanting to possibly catch a glimpse of her brother naked.
Honestly *this* is the 'middle of the night' as far as Mikoto's sleep schedule is concerned, and he's quite famed for sleeping through much worse than this, so he doesn't so much as budge. In fact, he's having an enjoyable dream where he's doing quite well on Rupaul's drag race -- how he ended up there, being of an absolutely wrong nationality for it? Who knows, it's a dream, doesn't matter.
Keiji, on the other hand, had now had a goodly amount of sleep, and the knock on the door made him stir. The words that followed made the singer groan as he truly woke up, then smiled at the blond head next to him in bed. "Mmmm... dressed enough." He responded to his sister, meaning that he was okay with her opening the door.
Kaiya frowned at that response, but trusted her brother wasn't actively trying to scar them both and opened the door to see Mikoto still very much passed out in the bed and her brother still cuddled in with him. "Soooo..... am I making eggs and rice for you guys too?" She asked with some amusement.
"Rice would be great. I can always reheat it later. If you're making hardboiled eggs, that would be fine cold later too. If you were going to fry them or something though, then no. I can make some when Miko-kun wakes up."
Kaiya shrugged at that. "Okay, rice and boiled eggs. Got it. Enjoy lounging in bed~" She told her brother, then went off to make breakfast, leaving Keiji to snuggle back in with Mikoto for a bit longer.
The boys honestly hadn't gotten up to anything scandalous the night before -- in fact Mikoto is fully dressed in bed, although given that the Tanaka household is kept colder than his, there's nothing other than his head visible out of the covers. He is quite firmly snuggled up to his boyfriend, with the comforter even tucked under in places to keep the warmth in.
Kaiya sent about making breakfast for everyone, then put away the rice (which there was, frankly, a ridiculous amount of) in the fridge, along with the hard boiled eggs she'd made for her brother and the blond, then ate what she'd made for herself. That done, she did up the dishes and headed to her room to do some work on the custom items she was making for Naoto.
Quite a while later, Keiji sighed and pressed a soft kiss to Mikoto's cheek. He didn't really want to extricate himself from the blond, but he kind of desperately needed to pee. And if he was going to be up, he might as well shower and get ready for the day. That decided, he begrudgingly got up and headed for the bathroom to get his day going.
It's honestly closer to lunch by the time the model finally wakes up. He doesn't mind waking up alone in the bed -- he'd gotten to sleep comfortably and deeply thanks to Keiji, and the bed still has the other man's scent emanating from it, so he's happy indeed. He emerges into the rest of the house to see what the siblings are up to.
After a while, Keiji had honestly given up on waiting for Mikoto to get up and eaten some of the rice and eggs his sister had left for them as breakfast. Honestly, he wasn't sure what time Mikoto had gotten to sleep, and he had gotten back to sleep, so he had no idea what would be an expected wake up time, so he didn't even try to wake the other man at all. When the blond eventually appeared, Keiji was actually in the kitchen with Kaiya discussing what they should do for lunch, so they both got to see Mikoto's spectacular bedhead when he came out of the bedroom. "Have a good sleep?" He asked the other man with a warm smile.
Kaiya just grinned and moved to the fridge to see what they had to make up as food for the three of them since Miko was actually awake now.
"Mm, mhmm," Mikoto mumbles as a response to that question. He has no idea the situation involved with his hair -- and he ends up giving a big yawn regardless. The sleepy expression looks extra cute with his eye shape, honestly. He is seriously considering walking over and sitting on Keiji's lap but notices Kaiya just in time to casually change directions over to another kitchen chair.
Honestly, Miko in Keiji's lap probably wouldn't have made Kaiya bat an eyelash, except that her brother would undoubtedly need to do any of the actual *cooking* they were going to do. "Do you feel like anything in particular for lunch, Miko-chan?" Kaiya asked from inside the fridge. "We have some leftover rice and eggs from this morning... and there's some fish in here from day before yesterday too... and stuff for salads!" That was actually really exciting to her as they didn't always get so many different veggies at once that she would think to make an actual salad with them. "There's also last night's dinner in portions in the freezer... oh! And portions from a few days ago too!" She advertised. there were other things they could make up too if none of that seemed interesting. Honestly, there was way more food in the fridge now than she was used to. It was kind of incredible to her.
Keiji just smiled at his boyfriend settling in a chair, wondering how likely he was to even understand everything Kaiya was saying, nevermind making a decision. You'd think she would be used to morning Miko (well, afternoon Miko), but then again, most times she stayed over with the bassist she was gone to school before he woke up, so maybe not. "Coffee?" He asked, trying to keep the question simple and understandable.
Mikoto hasn't even noticed he's hungry yet - sure it's there, but it's not a problem yet. He yawns again, failing at following along with Kaiya's options. Honestly, he'd be happy to eat anything, so whatever works for the siblings is fine (especially since he feels bad eating their food. He likes it better when it's going the other way). Keiji's question is much more helpful, "Mm, Coffee." There's a belated pause and then his brain reminds him that manners are a thing, "Please."
Keiji got out the instant coffee and made up a mug for Mikoto immediately. He'd already boiled water knowing that he and Kaiya would want some tea, and that the blond would most likely want coffee upon waking. That done, he handed the drink over and turned to his sister. "I'm thinking salads with the leftover fish and the rest of the boiled eggs from this morning." He decided, since that would use up the items most likely to go bad the quickest, and supply them all with lots of vegetation. Plus, it being a salad, having smaller portions of protein each wouldn't be weird.
Kaiya giggled a bit when she noticed how not-awake Mikoto still seemed, but nodded as her brother took charge and made a quick decision. "Okay!" She agreed immediately, then pulled out everything for making their lunch. Sure, the majority of the vegetables were either ugly or bruised, but that didn't make them any less edible, and if the damage was really bad in a spot, they could always just cut that part away. Honestly, she didn't understand why people would pass over cheaper vegetables just because they weren't perfect, but she was grateful for it today~
Keiji also clearly knows how to take care of a barely conscious Mikoto, swiftly getting him some black coffee he can nurse. Mikoto accepts the mug from his boyfriend, holding it in both hands and occasionally taking sips despite it being probably too hot still. There's something way cuter than his normal aura around him when he's sleepy like this.
And Kaiya was totally picking up on that adorable vibe. It made her want to dress Mikoto in something cozy, fluffy, and obnoxiously pink. Possibly at odds with the drinking of black coffee, but that was fine. Rather than coo at the sleepy blond, though, she got down to being helpful, chopping up veggies far more competently than before now that she'd been under her boyfriend's tutelage for a while. She left the proteins to her brother to warm up, though. Knowing her, she would overheat them and that wouldn't be good.
Keiji couldn't help but smile the whole time he was working on making lunch. Until Mikoto had had at least one full mug of coffee, there probably wouldn't be much conversation from that corner, so it was just amicable sibling-ness as he and Kaiya got the salads ready. Once the veggies were in the bowl, and the proteins had been warmed, sliced, and placed on top, his sister went to the fridge and produced a little unlabeled bottle.
"Tada~ Setsuna-kun's salad dressing!" She announced, bringing it over so it could be poured on the three bowls of food. "Ne, Miko-chan, do you want this? Or something else? Or just plain?" She *thought* he would want his best friend's salad dressing, but she thought it was best to ask, just in case.
The blond is fairly quiet while he sips his coffee, but once he's most of the way through the mug, he's watching the siblings as they work together in such a... well such a cozy way is quite lovely. By the time Kaiya asks him that, he's at least awake enough to answer, "Mm, Setsuna's sounds good, thanks."
"Kay~" Kaiya replied brightly, then got the dressing on the salads, then put the bottle back in the fridge. Even with this gift from her boyfriend she was fairly frugal, only putting on enough so that each salad would be lightly coated. Of course, when she and her brother could afford the selection of veggies for a salad in the past, they hadn't had any sort of dressing for it, so this was definitely a treat.
While Kaiya tucked the dressing away and got tea for them (and brought over the instant coffee and a small pot of hot water for the blond), Keiji brought the meals over with some forks, then settled in the chair next to Mikoto. "Awake enough to be hungry yet?" He asked with a warm smile for the other man.
"Thanks," Mikoto says as he gets food and the means to make more coffee delivered to him. He does in fact, get set on preparing another mug of instant coffee before starting on the salad, but he nods to Keiji's question, "Mhmm. The coffee helps."
... pancakes would have been even better, but he's not going to be choosy while visiting the Tanaka household.
Unfortunately, there was no pancake mix to be had in the siblings' apartment at the moment, so Mikoto would have to persevere without them.
"You're welcome!" Kaiya replied happily, then started on her own lunch with much enjoyment. After a little bit, though, she asked, "So.... when did you get here, Miko-chan~?" She asked with a bit of a knowing look in her eyes. She wasn't a stranger to Mikoto staying over, but since he hadn't arrived before Keiji went to bed...
Keiji almost choked on his salad at that question from his sister. He knew he had gone to bed long before her. He knew that she knew Mikoto hadn't been there when he fell asleep. So, why had she waited to ask *Mikoto* rather than just asking him?
Mikoto's salad disappears with trademark speed, and then he works on his second mug of coffee. He's starting to feel much more awake when the redhead asks him that. He's wondering what she thinks had gone on -- did she think he came over late at night and he and Keiji had gotten up to something while she was sleeping? Sure Miko was that brazen, but not Keiji. "Hmm, probably around 4am, I guess?" he answers... giving no more information than what had been specifically asked about.
"Oh?" Kaiya responded with interest. She hadn't thought it was a booty call, but that late... But then, Keiji *had* gone to bed super early, and the couple *hadn't* had a sleepover in a few days... had Keiji woken up and called the blond over?
Before Kaiya could ask anymore questions, Keiji spoke up, "We missed each other, so he came over." The truth, even if it wasn't the whole truth.
And that was enough for Kaiya, as instead of asking more about it, instead she replied with, "Awwwww~ You guys are so cute~" And settled her fork down so she could form a heart with both hands.
It should be obvious that it wasn't a booty call since they'd both been decent when she'd checked on Keiji in the morning. But whatever. Mikoto, uncharacteristically, blushes -- although at least Keiji had saved him by making it sound more mutual than it had been. The decision had fully been the blond's, after all.
That blush just further solidified Kaiya's opinion that the pair was completely adorable. "So~ What are you guys going to do today?" She knew her brother was free, and she also knew that *she* was going to be taking off to watch the Devillic practice in about an hour. So, the real question was whether Mikoto was free and wanted to spend some awake time with her brother.
Keiji shrugged at the question. "We haven't really had a chance to discuss today yet." He admitted truthfully. He wasn't against the idea of doing something with the blond, though. Far from it.
"I just woke up," Mikoto complains jokingly, definitely also on the 'would definitely like to spend more time together' train but they surely haven't come up with any plans yet. He glances over to Keiji to gauge the younger man's thoughts.
Keiji smiled at that glance, but was in the middle of chewing just then.
Kaiya laughed at that complaint, but totally saw that glance as well. "He's off today." She supplied, since her brother's mouth was clearly busy. Obviously the only hurdle to spending some time together, in her opinion, was work (and school, in her case).
"Then~ I'm sure we'll find something to do," Mikoto replies, looking for his phone because he honestly can't remember if he works tonight or not - then sighing because it's not on his person. He stands up to head to the bed room, sure it's on the bedside table there.
When Mikoto got up to retrieve his phone, Keiji's eyes tracked the other man's cute butt, almost unconsciously.
And Kaiya totally noticed her brother's gaze and grinned at him. "So... should I see if I can stay over with Setsuna-kun tonight~?" She teased her brother.
Those words snapped Keiji back to reality and he turned his attention back to Kaiya. He was about to sputter something, but... if he were honest..."It might not be the worst idea."
Mikoto gets his phone, and returns to the kitchen, checking it as he walks because he is absolutely that kind of person. He makes some more coffee, although in a sign of clearly being awake now, adds some milk this time, "I have a short, bartending shift from 10-2 only, then I'm off tomorrow." And really, the shift starting late enough that that gives them a fair amount of time today anyways.
Kaiya just smiled sweetly at her brother as Mikoto came back, oblivious to the conversation the siblings had been having. "So... are you going to come back here after your shift? Or are you guys going to go to your place tonight, Miko-chan~?" She asked, absolutely certain that the couple would want to be together tonight, *especially* with her brother having agreed that she should probably see about staying over with *her* boyfriend if she could.
Keiji, wisely, worked on finishing his salad rather than offering up his further opinion just yet.
"Hmm? To be decided," the blond replies. His apartment is nicer, with a big plush bed, and also has his food so he doesn't have to feel bad about eating theirs. But the main reason they don't hang out more here is because of Kaiya, and they're already here which is a factor as well.
"Okay~ Well, I will do my best to not be present, wherever you two end up~" Kaiya responded with a rather pleased smile. If she couldn't stay over with Setsuna for some reason, she would just text Keiji later to see what was going on and either sleep at home, or in Mikoto's bed, wherever the pair weren't. Easy.
Keiji just smiled at the two of them and shook his head. "Probably depends what we get up to today." He admitted, since if they stayed around here, Mikoto coming back here after work made sense. However, if they ended up going closer to Mikoto's place, Keiji wouldn't mind staying there and waiting for the blond to return either.
Mikoto nods, since that does make sense. And he's obviously perfectly happy to let Kaiya sleep at his place if that's how it turns out, though he does mention, "I'll at the very least have to go home to get ready for work though." Unless he's going to try to get in drag using Kaiya's makeup and Kaiya's clothes.
"True." Keiji agreed, which made it slightly more likely they would stay over at Mikoto's place, but not absolutely for sure.
Kaiya just shrugged at that information. If, by some miracle, she was already getting for bed at, like, 9pm at Mikoto's place, she wouldn't care at all if he came in to get changed for work. "Everyone done?" She asked, mostly being polite as all the bowls were empty, then got up to start cleaning up the dishes.
"Mhmm," Mikoto agrees. He's not even at the table anymore, currently standing with a coffee mug, for the second time that day trying to decide if he should settle on Keiji's lap or not.
Kaiya just rolled her eyes at the couple and worked on washing up the dishes. "Well, I guess you guys can figure that out. I need to go get ready to watch a rock band~" She advertised, drying her hands off as she said so.
"I guess we can." Keiji agreed with an amused smile for his sister's interest in his love life.
"Oh, band practice today? Have fun~" Mikoto replies. Kaiya dries her hands off from the dishes, and heads to her room to get ready as advertised, making it a very very easy decision for Mikoto to settle himself onto Keiji's lap. This is a much better place to enjoy his coffee from.
Once Kaiya had headed out of the kitchen, Keiji found himself with the pleasant surprise of a lap full of Mikoto. "Happy now?" He asked, automatically settling his hands in the best positions to help keep the blond properly balanced.
"Mhmm," Mikoto agrees easily, an innocent smile on his face. He has another sip of coffee but this being his third mug in less than an hour he doesn't need to down it, and puts it on the table to focus on his boyfriend instead.
"Good." Keiji stated with a beautiful smile for his boyfriend. He gave Mikoto a tiny squeeze, then leaned in to press a kiss to the other man's lips. "I'm happy too." He added, because it was true.
The blond enjoys that short, sweet kiss, and then pokes at the situation, "Even after me giving you a heart attack in the middle of the night?"
"Yes, even with that." Keiji agreed with good humour. In the bright light of day, he really didn't feel that the small fright was all that terrible. "Like I said: it was like a nightmare, and then you were there to comfort me." And he had had that nightmare. More than once. And been alone, terrified, upon waking.
Mikoto feels relieved that Keiji clearly still seems to still feel well about the situation. "So~ The plan moving forward is for me to join you in bed whenever it's necessary, and I just need to talk more when I do so."
Keiji nodded, "Yeah, I think that will work. I still might freeze up a little until my brain wakes up enough to register your voice, but I think it'll be better. And maybe, eventually, it'll become normal? Or my brain will register your voice immediately? I don't know, but I do think it'll make it better." He replied, obviously not knowing for sure what his future reaction might be, but guessing based on his reaction the night before. He was rather convinced that hearing Mikoto's voice would be incredibly helpful, though.
"... well, we'll keep trying it, and if anything changes about how you feel about it? Then just let me know." Mikoto agrees. Feeling much more settled about the matter, he takes advantage of his position to give Keiji another kiss.
"Sounds like a plan." Keiji agreed readily, then happily met that kiss. It felt so good, so normal, to sit there with Mikoto on his lap and kiss the blond. And he liked that it felt that way. He didn't feel the need to vocalize it, but he was sure that, even if Mikoto would feel nervous admitting it, his boyfriend felt the same.
Mikoto has fully forgotten that Kaiya's still around, not that it matters since they're not getting up to anything too crazy just yet. The kiss, the position, and everything feels very easy, and while the evening visit hadn't gone quite as well as he had hoped, it had gone much better than he had feared, so things are looking up there as well. "So... what do you wanna do today?"
Kaiya, currently, was working on her hair and makeup, so not in danger of catching the pair being so adorable. And even if she had, she would have just thought they were super cute.
That question had Keiji considering. "Hmm... well, I do have a couple of quick errands to run, but other than that I have a completely clear day. We could hang out at one of our homes, or go walk around somewhere, or maybe look for another cheap museum or other entertainment?" He suggested, not sure what Mikoto was feeling up to. He was rather sure sex would feature at some point that day, but not necessarily right now, in the middle of the day.
"I don't mind coming along with you for your errands," Mikoto offers, since that would have them together and Keiji getting his stuff done. "Then yeah, maybe find something to do, then I'm thinking go to my place?" After all, at his place they could have sex and then he could leisurely get ready for his own work. Time of day doesn't really factor into Mikoto's sex planning, but if there's stuff to do he'd rather do it before than after. After is for cuddling, clearly.
"Sounds like a plan to me." Keiji agreed easily, liking the sound of how their day was shaping up. "Are you going to stay in what you're wearing? Or borrow something from Kaiya until we get to your place?" He asked, not caring either way, obviously, but more just curious.
Mikoto is strangely quiet, before having to admit, "Honestly, I have no idea what I'm wearing." He'd gotten dressed, half asleep, desperate, grumpy, and focused just on getting decent enough for the short jaunt over to here, "So... I'll decide after I see, I guess."
That brought a small laugh from the singer. "Well, given that Kaiya didn't make any kind of face or comment when she saw you, I assume it's not a disaster in any way." He said, thinking that Mikoto's clothing looked fine to him, even if the other man's hair was still completely wild from sleep.
"Oh, that's true," Mikoto replies, although it could be that his loving sister was giving him a pass knowing that he'd literally just climbed out of bed. He supposes he'll find out soon enough -- and if he decides it's not good enough, he will absolutely just steal clothes from Kaiya.
Even if Kaiya had been being polite, Keiji was sure that her eyes would have betrayed her shock if Mikoto's wardrobe had been truly shocking. Especially since the blond had been so out of it initially that he wouldn't have picked up on any reaction she'd had. "Well, you'll be able to look when you go to the bathroom, anyway." Which, he was sure wouldn't be too long from now, especially with Mikoto being on his third mug of coffee.
Mikoto sighs, as that time is indeed swiftly coming. Although it's not at the stage where he's ready to give up his spot on Keiji's lap. He does have another sip of what's left of mug three though. "It's probably fine... especially for errands."
"I don't know... 7-11 is a pretty judgemental crowd..." Keiji teased gently. He definitely didn't think Mikoto *could* wear anything that would be unacceptable for that clientele. Maybe something really vulgar, but even then, he was pretty sure it would all be a joke to the two of them, so it would just be amusing then.
"Please. They think the same songs they always play but with bells layered over them counts as Christmas music, what do they know," Mikoto replies, just random judgmental vitriol (but the truth though) for that particular convenience chain out of nowhere.
That just made Keiji laugh, "Well, then, I think we're fine no matter what." He replied, happy to hear his boyfriend so decisive.
It was about that moment that Kaiya stuck her head in the kitchen, hair, makeup, and clothing all done to go out and watch her boyfriend's band practice. She saw how her brother and the bassist were sitting and couldn't help but grin. "Okay~ I'm on my way out now~ Just let me know where you guys end up for the night and I'll be sure to stay out of your hair~" She told them, totally happy for the pair and wanting to give them every opportunity to grow their intimacy.
Mikoto looks over to Kaiya, feeling slightly off about being on her brother's lap while she's looking, but she seems to pay it no mind so he doesn't worry much. "It sounds like we'll likely be at my place? But if that changes, we'll let you know."
"Okay~ Sounds good! Maybe I'll see you there. Or maybe not." Kaiya responded happily, then gave them another bright smile. "You guys are so cute~" She couldn't help but gush, even knowing how Mikoto felt about certain things. She didn't say anything that was specifically couple-y, though, so she thought it was fine. "Okay! I'm off! Have fun~" She said as she left the room entirely to get her shoes on.
"Bye Kaiya. See you later, maybe." Keiji called after his sister, seeing no reason to protest her assessment of their cuteness. He happened to agree.
"Bye," Mikoto calls out, and then, once Kaiya's out of sight, he hides his face in Keiji's hair while he calms down. It's a slightly awkward position, to hunch over enough while sitting on the man's lap, but with the height differences and his flexibility he makes it work.
Keiji blinked at Mikoto's reaction, but just held him and rubbed his back while the blond calmed down. "You okay?" He asked when a few moments had passed.
"Mmhmm," Mikoto agrees, sitting back up. He wishes this stuff didn't affect him, he just wants cuddles and affection from Keiji. He leans in for another kiss, then admits, "K, I do need to go to the bathroom now though."
When Mikoto seemed completely normal upon sitting up, Keiji was relieved. Seemed that the other man had just been a little embarrassed by his sister catching them this way. Honestly, that was kind of cute. "Okay. Hurry back, though~" Keiji replied, letting the blond go, but not without one more little peck to those wonderful lips.
"You're gross," Mikoto replies - this being the end result of a train of thought where hurrying back somehow meant not washing hands but he doesn't share any of that logic so it comes across as random. He heads to the bathroom, and not only properly washes his hands afterwards, but spends some time taming his hair now that he's in the mirror. Heading back into the kitchen he adds, "Outfit is mildly boring; but fine."
"How am I gross?" Keiji protested, not seeing how anything he'd said or done was gross at all. He didn't worry too much, though, just working on tidying up the kitchen. When Mikoto returned, though, he just smiled at that decision. "Well, mildly boring is better than awful. Ready to head out? Or want to... hang out here and do something first~?"
"The only one to hurry back would be to skip handwashing; and that's gross," Mikoto replies, finally revealing at least some of his thought process. "Hmm, I think it's better to go out and get the errands out of the way, then we can take our time later~"
"Or, you know.... not primp endlessly in the mirror before coming back?" Keiji supplied as another, much less gross, explanation. The fact that he was just as likely to primp as Mikoto was just meant he knew from experience how long a person could lose themselves doing so. The decision to get errands out of the way brought a nod from the model, though. "Alright. Well, I need to pay some bills, then stop at the supermarket." Keiji explained. Normally he would just leave the groceries for a different day, but this was the particular day of the month that he had found the closest store would go through and mark down the most things that were nearing their best by dates. Of course there were always a few things every day, and a few more every week, but this was the best day to have the largest selection all at once. He just had to make sure it was either freezable, or that they would eat the thing before the date.
"I barely primped!" Mikoto protests. He's not even wearing makeup so he fakes a 'how dare you' attitude that he doesn't at all feel. Mikoto really didn't care what the errands were - plus these sounded pretty quick and easy honestly. Bills is just a matter of dropping by a convenience store. "Ok~ Then let's go."
"So, in this case, you did hurry back!" Keiji replied, trying not to laugh at Mikoto's faked indignation. At that almost immediate declaration that they should go, Keiji moved to gather the small stack of bills, and the cash that was set aside to pay them, then got it all put away in a small messenger bag that he then slung over his shoulder. "I feel nervous carrying this stuff in my pocket. I feel like, somehow, it'll fall out on the way there." He explained. Of course, the idea was ridiculous, but this way he had peace of mind.
Mikoto smiles, a gentle one, not a put on one. He knows that while the Tanaka family situation has improved, things are still tight. So it makes perfect sense to him, and he reinforces the idea, "Better safe than sorry, for sure." Even if it was silly, a feeling of reassurance is valuable all on its own.
Keiji nodded, relieved somewhat that Mikoto understood and agreed. "Alright. Let's get going then!" He said, moving to get his shoes and jacket on so that they could, indeed, head out and get the day properly going. After all, it wouldn't be *that* long before Mikoto had to start getting ready for his shift that night. Not when the blond had woken up after lunchtime already.
The blond wouldn't dream of teasing Keiji for anything that helped the man to feel more secure. His boyfriend needed security, home, and safety so much, so if a bag can bring that? Brilliant! Mikoto has some very rock and roll boots; short solid heel which puts them ambiguously into mens or womens, but with black spikes all over them. It makes his 'boring' outfit come together somehow, so apparently even sleep starved Miko has the touch.
Keiji had to shake his head in simple amazement at Mikoto putting together an outfit that became infinitely cooler with footwear while desperately needing sleep. He didn't comment though, instead just leading the out of the apartment when they were both out, then locking the door behind them. "Bills first. The conbini isn't very far." He said, happily leading the way with Mikoto by his side.
"Hai~" Mikoto replies, tone cutely imparting both that he agrees, and also giving the impression that he doesn't particularly care. He lets Keiji lead the way, resisting the urge to hold hands as he's relatively masculine at the moment. He definitely buys a steam bun at the other register while Keiji is paying the bills.
Keiji also wanted to link hands with Mikoto, but he resisted because the blond didn't reach for him either. He was a little amused at his boyfriend buying food while he paid his bills, but it was very in character. Once he was done with his chore, though, he was happy to exit the convenience store with the other man and continue on toward the grocery store. "Still hungry?" He asked, not terribly surprised by that either. Honestly, the salad probably hadn't been enough to tide Mikoto over for very long.
"Yeah," Mikoto agrees. He hadn't brought it up in front of Kaiya, but he's more willing to share with Keiji, "I feel bad imposing, especially for seconds, especially with the way *I* eat. Y'know?" He hopes that doesn't come across as patronizing but he thinks his boyfriend will understand. He starts munching the steam bun as they walk to the supermarket.
That explanation brought a nod from the model. "Ah~ Okay." He agreed, understanding Mikoto's reasoning, and agreeing, at least to himself, that Mikoto did eat more than he or his sister did, but also kind of feeling sad that he couldn't just say that Mikoto should eat as much as he wanted. One day, he wanted to be able to do that, but life just wasn't to that point yet. And Mikoto never made him feel awkward about that, so that was good, at least. "Okay, off to the grocery store, then." He said, heading in the right direction, but not hurrying. He knew it wouldn't take long for the blond to finish his food, but no need to rush him even more.
Mikoto had an eye on Keiji to make sure his explanation wasn't taken the wrong way -- he means it fully in well wishing. He'd like Keiji to be able to treat him as well -- just because he wants Keiji to be secure and not have to worry about money anymore! The meat bun disappears long before they arrive at the grocery store.
While Keiji did feel slightly ashamed that he couldn't treat his boyfriend, it was a reality that he was very familiar with, and therefore wasn't upset by Mikoto's explanation. Instead, he just enjoyed the short walk, and when they arrived at the store, he headed inside with the blond. "Okay, so, I'm looking for the best deals. If you see anything for a really, really good price, let me know?" He requested, pretty sure he wouldn't miss anything, but happy to put Mikoto to work helping him look.
"Hmm... ok." Mikoto agrees, although he doesn't point out that since his groceries typically involve relatively little actual 'food' and that he doesn't really look at prices, he's probably not going to be the most useful at this. But! He will surely try.
Keiji smiled at that agreement, even if it sounded a little less than sure. Then, he made his way into the store and almost beelined for where he knew the discount produce tended to be. Seeing a small bag of potatoes, he grabbed them immediately, even before seeing the price. It was just a thing he didn't often get lucky enough to bring home, so if the bag was on the reduced rack, he was going to grab them, then make calculations after. He also saw some decent-looking fruit and started checking prices and how damaged the fruit actually was.
Yeah. Ok. Mikoto feels well out of his depth. He hadn't even figured out how to recognize the discounted items when Keiji had already grabbed a bag of potatoes. So the blond follows along, doing his best to look out. Which isn't terribly good, but hopefully if he can observe Keiji maybe he can help more next time.
After quite a bit of checking, Keiji came out with some small plums, and a rather good looking daikon too. Everything else he deemed as either too expensive for what he would get, or too close to going bad. "Okay, on to the next area." He announced, letting Mikoto know for sure that they were moving on now. His next destination was the meat area. This would get picked over quickly, so he wasn't too hopeful of finding anything really good, but you just never knew.
"Hai~" Mikoto says, with a terribly similar tone to before. Totally game to follow along, he tries to keep an open eye for things. Whatever those things may be. But he really is trying, not checking his phone or anything.
Given that Mikoto neither cooked, nor had to worry about money, Keiji really wasn't surprised that Mikoto wasn't being able to *actually* help, but he did find it endearing that the blond was clearly trying. The fact that the other man had all his attention on this was weirdly endearing. After shifting things around in the little reduced cooler, Keiji sucked in a surprised breath. That had to be a mistake, right? He pulled out his find from the bottom and checked the price, then the date, then immediately added his find to his basket. A whole uncooked chicken! Yes, the date was close, but it wasn't *too* bad, and if there was no space in the freezer for the whole thing, he could cook it, break it down, then throw the carcass in a pot to make soup. Actually, with that in mind... "Let's go back to the produce. Some of that stuff that I wouldn't have bought for regular veggies would be great for flavouring soup stock." He explained.
"If you say so," Mikoto says gamely. He does think he's learning a lot about this discount hunting and hopes to be able to help more in the future. He does know some stuff because of Setsuna though, so he kind of gets the significance of a whole chicken.
That response brought a warm smile from the model. "You're going to get an education today." He promised, though his words were as warm as his smile. He had no doubt that Mikoto would gamely follow along and attempt to learn to be helpful in something like this, but also would have zero interest in actually cooking any of it. That said, he made his way back over to the produce and picked up a small onion, a couple of sad looking leeks, and a few other wilted or badly bruised items that he thought would work well together with the chicken flavour.
"I already am," Mikoto admits honestly. The level of planning, to try to make the most of the money, to get ingredients to work together, and plan for when and how to prepare and save them. Even just getting small hints of it, it's pretty impressive.
Keiji couldn't help but smile at Mikoto for that. "Okay, now onto the non-perishables." He decided. Anything cheese or dairy related wasn't something he wanted to chance with getting close to date, so that he would only buy during normal sales. Non-perishables he was less worried about having issues with. Yes, they had long dates, so anything nearing their date was old indeed, but he hadn't had many issues with them so far.
"Hai~" Mikoto agrees, still game to follow along. He doesn't care if Keiji's going to lead him down every aisle of the store, this is clearly important for his boyfriend and his adopted sister.
That rather bright agreement made Keiji feel quite a bit better about the whole dragging Mikoto along for discount day. "Okay, so, the name of the game here is nothing that contains cream or other dairy products. Even canned, those can go bad even before their dates." He advised. Not that it happened often, but, again, he'd rather not chance it and get him and Kaiya sick. "Canned veggies, or boxed mixes are normally okay, though." He added before they approached the first bin of discounted items and he began to sort, looking for things that would be useful, and carefully checking just how close the dates were. Some things were actually past date, so that was something to watch out for.
Mikoto focused narrowly on the instructions given - a challenge in itself in a way, to read ingredients. He's not really checking the dates, but if something seems ok in terms of ingredients, he shows it to Keiji for final approval.
When Mikoto began looking diligently next to him, Keiji felt a warmth in his chest that was somehow new. He wasn't sure what it was, except that it was related to Mikoto not judging at all and just helping him. It just felt... so loving, somehow. He smiled to himself, and when items were presented to him by the blond he would look at them, check the dates, then decide yes or no based on what he already had, what he had at home, and what he could use the item for. Once he had as much as he thought could be used before their dates, he gave a relieved sigh. "Okay, I think that's enough." He announced. "Let's head to the register."
The blond had half-way thought they'd be trolling through more aisles than this, not that he's complaining about them being done. "Ok." the blond agrees again, perfectly content to head along. He's genuinely happy for anything that makes life for the Tanaka family even a bit easier so he doesn't mind the time spent here at all.
Keiji thought he caught some kind of surprise in Mikoto's expression and explained, unasked, his thoughts, "It would be great if we could get more, but since the reason these things are discounted is because they're near date, I can only buy what I think we'll eat before they go over." And those dates tended to be between that day to maybe a week or a week and a half from then. Not a super long time. Thank goodness for soup and freezers. That said, he led the way to the registers so he could purchase the items in his basket.
"Ohhh, I see." Mikoto replies, understanding now why you couldn't just fully stock up. He's starting to think that Keiji's original plan for the afternoon may have been cooking everything up, but hopefully it'll be fine if he does it the next day instead?
Thankfully, the chicken hadn't had a due date that was that day, so he should be okay to leave it for the next day. Even better if he could toss it into the freezer if there was enough room. He'd been pretty careful about checking that, since he knew they had plans for the rest of the day. Once he'd paid for everything and had his bags, he turned a smile on Mikoto. "Okay, back to my place so I can drop these off, then... whatever else we want to do after that?"
Definitely showing that he's been considering the matter, he double checks, "You don't need to cook anything up today?" Sure, he wants to steal Keiji away to his house, fuck, and cuddle but this is more important.
Keiji shook his head. "No, the chicken's date is tomorrow, so I can cook it tomorrow. And if there's space in the freezer, it doesn't even need done then. It can wait another couple of days. Everything else will keep for at least a couple of days in the fridge." He added, definitely meaning the soup veggies.
"Ok, good. Then I would like to spirit you away to my place, once you've got everything squared away." Mikoto admits, although he'd made that known earlier as well, frankly.
"Sounds like a fantastic plan." Keiji confirmed, glad that nothing had changed on that front. Thankfully, they weren't too far away from his place, so it wouldn't take much out of their time together that day trekking back to put the groceries away before heading to Mikoto's place. "So, how was doing errands with me?" He asked with a smile.
Keiji hadn't even bought enough for the blond to bother helping out with carrying things. Which feels weird -- both that an important grocery trip was so small, and that he can't help. "Hmm? Well... it was ok. Sorry I couldn't really be more helpful."
Keiji shook his head at that apology. "You were fine. I mean, I know you don't go grocery shopping in the most normal way, so I wasn't expecting you to know anything about discount shopping. And you were helpful with the non-perishables!" He assured the blond, "I really appreciated the help, and that you were willing to try." Not that he'd expected anything less of Mikoto, but the other man *could* have just looked around at various things while the singer worked on finding his groceries. "And, more than anything, I appreciated your company." He admitted, since doing mundane things was always nicer with someone else than alone.
"The company is the really nice part, ne?" Mikoto agrees. Sure these aren't his chores he's been dealing with, but at least he can spend the time with Keiji. Especially, especially after a few days apart, this is pretty relaxing on its own.
"Absolutely!" Keiji agreed with an enthusiastic nod. "Do you ever have to pay bills? Or are those taken care of by Setsuna-san?" He asked, curious now how the utilities were taken care of at Mikoto's apartment. Plus, it seemed safe conversation while they walked.
"I do have my own bills - our apartments have different addresses," And that was important for things like shipping and dealing with city hall and the like. "I just have them auto withdrawal from my bank account though."
"Ah~ I see." Keiji replied, interested to hear a little more about how Mikoto's living arrangements worked. "That's neat that you have your bills set up that way." He added, though for himself, he really felt the need to have cash in hand for everything. It helped him budget better and know exactly where his money was going at any point in time. Maybe, one day, he could let that go a little, but that time was not now.
Mikoto is definitely pretty wealthy for someone his age (not paying rent helps a lot, obviously). He honestly doesn't even remember what a lot of his bills are cuz they just auto pay and he's never out of money. He doesn't entirely realize how fortunate he is for that. It's not too far at all to Keiji's apartment, but he mostly watches as Keiji puts things way since he doesn't want to do it wrong and mess things up.
It didn't take Keiji too long to get everything put away, storing the veggies in the veggie drawer and the non-perishables in the cupboard. It was the chicken that gave the most trouble. The singer looked at the state of the freezer, then looked at the fridge. There was room in the fridge, but he would rather put it in the freezer. He took another look in the freezer, then pulled out a couple of packed up, already made meals. He could put those in the fridge to be ready for tomorrow... Maybe that was the best plan? They wouldn't go bad even if it took a couple of days to eat them... With a nod to himself, he juggled the frozen meals into the fridge, then got the chicken put away in the freezer. "Okay, done. Everything is settled and away." He announced, turning to Mikoto with a smile.
Honestly, this is all fully foreign to Mikoto, who rarely even has that much even his fridge, even though it's probably larger than Kaiya and Keiji's. But he's happy to wait and let Keiji get everything sorted. He's pretty sure, but he double checks, "And that's the last errand? We can head over to my place now?"
"Yup, that's the last errand. Well, other than grabbing some things for overnight." Keiji amended, because clothing and certain makeup and toiletries would be nice to have with him. "Want to help me choose an outfit for tomorrow?" He offered, always happy to wear whatever Mikoto wanted him to.
"Ooh, of course," Mikoto agrees, perfectly happy to play dress up with anyone at any time, and that definitely includes styling his gorgeous boyfriend. He doesn't even wait for Keiji to come with him, just heading off to his boyfriend's bedroom anyways.
Keiji laughed brightly at both that verbal and physical reaction, then called out, "Okay, you start without me. I'm going to grab my eyeliner and some toiletries, then come see what you've chosen." He said, having no worries at all about his boyfriend playing around in his closet. That said, he headed to the bathroom to put the things he was wanting in his little duffel bag.
"Done~" Mikoto calls back, literally already opening up the closet. He hums happily to himself. He wants something sexy~ But that's easy because Keiji makes just about anything look sexy, and he has to keep in mind that it's not *summer* yet so he can't go too wild. He pulls out some things and puts them on his boyfriend's bed.
Once he was done in the bathroom, Keiji brought his bag with him into the bedroom, and was amused to see that Mikoto already had some options laid out on his bed. "Too many options?" He asked, lightly amused.
The blond smiles, "Well, I'm happy with any of these, but I can't really decide your comfort level with the weather for you, y'know?"
That reasoning made Keiji laugh. "Let's go with: if you would be warm enough in it, I'll be fine in it." He replied. After all, they were generally affected pretty similarly to weather, so it should be a fine benchmark. Honestly, he couldn't see anything that he would freeze to death in, unless he was locked outside all day and night (and even then, probably not *to death*).
