This is a travelogue of my 2011 trip to Belgium, France & Spain. I'll serialize it here, and you can also follow it on Facebook by "Like"ing the Space Jet Comics page. Day 2 is already up, there.
Hey Mike, I didn't know you were doing travelogues now! These look great-- some of the best cartooning I've seen from you (tho I really think people who draw all the time should just enjoy their vacation). I know what you mean about the sideburn kids. Were they from the south? And by that I mean anything outside Seattle. I just saw a documentary about a classroom of teenagers in some rural town down Tennessee way and without exception the boys all had the most brutal Mr. Spock haircuts (which did not help the already pronounced inbred look of the plucky youth. Nice kids though, all the same).
Thanks, James! Yeah, I started these last year on the trip, and finished a few pages after the trip. I'm still not done, unfortunately. It's a good thing I took notes. They might have been southern. I don't recall them sounding like hillbillies, as I probably would have cruelly berated them for that as well. The daughter was the only one who seemed happy, jumping all over. Although it's probably easier to be happy when you don't have a stupid haircut.
