Firstly thank you very much, this has been a most interesting review.
Secondly, PUBLISH THAT ELEGY, DAMMIT! This would be such a good thing for everyone to read, mnot just LJ-ers!
Thirdly, will you (when/if) Book 7 comes out, review it?? Please?? It'd be interesting to see how many of your predictions come true - btw jazzypom, Harry could have had a permanent glamour put on him and been legally and magically adopted by James??? I dont know, just guessing.
I know a lot of you guys want Mike to review Book 7, but I think you'd be better off holding back until it comes closer to being released. When the media won't shut up about Harrymania and Mike's friendslist won't talk about anything else, that's when his morbid curiosity is likely to be at its peak and people should nudge him to do it.
In talking to Mike during this project I get the feeling the last few chapters exhausted him, and he's relieved to be done with it. Reviewing another 600+ page Rowling novel is probably not something he wants to think about...for now, anyway.
It's like my brother, who has refused to read the books but says he'll read them all in order when the last book comes out. I keep asking him plot questions and he keeps coming up with brilliant ideas based on his comics-reading knowledge.
Ye gods, the Aeon Flux movie looks bad. I haven't even seen the series and it looks awful. :/
*cough*
But, Harry Potter! Thank you so much for doing these reviews; they're the funniest thing I've read as of recent and certainly helped keep a sane perspective on the most agreeably insane fandom, which I recently sunk into again.
I would LOVE it if you'd do a review of one of the better Harry Potter books, from back when the editors weren't afraid to do their jobs. Or at least of a few chapters of one, or as someone else suggested a few chapters from several books.
I have to admit, I'd squee my pants if you said you were going to do one of these for the third book, Prizoner of Azkaban.

The other problem with Aeon is that even if the movie were 90% faithful, it would still lack plot or complex character motivations. It would need to be 100% faithful and then rely on the macabre pretty combined with hopeless nihilism. Doesn't look like it had the guts to do that, so, *shrugs* I'm not offended just a bit let down
