The school population swoon behind him as he walks down the hallways of McKinley High. Poor Mike (with his puppy dog eyes) can't figure out why the students are dropping like flies. Tina runs up and drapes her cape over his bare shoulders while showing off her oh so sharp pearly whites to anyone who wishes to observe Mike's arms on a more intimate basis.

As happy as she is for his West Side Story audition, Tina can't help but notice Mike's been talking to himself a lot lately and acting a little... off. Even if they don't necessarily see eye-to-eye on everything, she makes a note of it to talk to Mrs. Chang about it.

She lies broken and bleeding on the concrete and Mike's whole world just stops. This isn't right, this isn't how things were supposed to happen. He can feel the thing that killed her getting up, can hear it hissing and howling, but he's frozen in place.

Tina's hair is so tangled, it'll take her forever to untangle it. Her face is spotted and her make-up is utterly ruined. She almost looks like a clown, all white and red.

"Mike! We have to go, man, we have to go!" Puck's voice calls out from far away and Mike walks towards Tina. If they have to leave, he has to wake her up...

The thing lunges at Mike, paws hitting his chest and he hits the ground hard and teeth are cutting into his shoulder and it's warm and sticky. He turns, calling out for Tina, because what else can he do? She's everything.

The last thing he sees is Tina.

He had caught her off guard after his audition for West Side Story with his arms tightly around her like she was his lifeline and his face buried in her hair. For whatever it was, Tina smiled and hugged him back.
