a new year has arrived
and every person on this entire planet

last night was the bomb diggity
my friends were the most respectful, partying,
have a good time people
you guys make my life
and I am happy to be of service to you
we never ended up watching the ball drop
midnight struck, I reached for the remote
and decided that jaming on the guitar,
singing songs of a new generation
was the best way to celebrate

I was going to make a new years resolution
but time lingered into the night
and that moment of care, disappeared
when I realized a resolution
is the laziest way of doing something good in your life
life should be about making the decision to do good
everyday
