Some of you know that I've been hitting the dating scene pretty hard the last couple months. Recently it seems like things have accelerated a bit; right after Valentine's Day this year, my profile on OKCupid started getting a LOT more attention. I'm generally blaming V-day for this phenomenon, even though I did make a few minor tweaks to my profile

I think people get more attention on OKCupid for making pretty much *any* change to their profile. What it is, is that you're more likely to show up on someone's landing page as "this local person recently changed their profile."

I remember once I made a minor edit to my profile and all of a sudden I had a huge traffic spike in terms of "visitors."

I don't know... there were a lot of times when I was making changes, and I still didn't get any increases in traffic like this. Maybe there are just more people on the site now? It's either that, or the new pictures. I think people generally don't read much of the profiles anyways.
