I'm going the other way. I started out being a professional, rule-abiding citizen at around age 14 and got more and more 'stiff' as time went on. Now I'm trying to go the other way. Problem is the older you get the more mature and professional you are expected to be and thusly the consequences get greater also! don't let go of everything, just the things that don't make you happy anymore.
I very often get that way. First I see things I could have done. Those become things I should have done. Then I wonder why I didn't. Oh, yes. I was watching reruns of Law & Order snacking on tortilla chips. Instead, I should have been at the fabric shop and teaching myself how to do the robot so I could have had a lot more fun.
I should be more like Ferris Bueller. If I were on the ball, I could do that.
I do want to do more next year, and I probably will. But I do like my downtime. I'll probably never spontaneously sing on a parade float or be the guy in the middle of the room with 50 people taking picutres, and I probably won't be in charge of the office in four years. And that's okay with me.
Because I like tortilla chips and Law & Order is on. It's a good one. And I'll probably study a bit afterward so I can get that promotion eventually.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me who believes in you!

By the way, it was still good to see you, even though it was brief.

Seriously though, that's a mature thought. Let's hope that you follow with mature actions. :) Congratulations on a good start.
