Well, this will be one of the times where having a war was a good thing. Kuwait had donated the U.S. 500 million dollars in oil to help relieve the oil lost in the gulf. That means that we have 500 Million Dollars worth of oil for no charge at all. and their reason? Because we helped them get Iraq out from their ass in 1991. So thank you Kuwait. ( Read more... )

actually, we helped cause the war in kuwait. we replaced Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi after he nationalized Iranian oil and the british complained of his closening business relationship to a communist party, so we gave them a coup d'tat and put in Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. This guy turned out to be extremely anti-american and during his reign sparked such lovley things as the Iran Hostage Crisis. The U.S. wanted him out of power, so when Khomeini's militrization threatened neighbor Saddam Hussein, the U.S. supported military action by Saddam against Khomeini. Rumsfeld met with Saddam several times and sold him the biological and chemical weapons amound other things, the very weapons we claimed he had when we invaded in 2002 (except Sarin nerve gas, VX, and anthrax have a shelf life no greater than 4 years ( ... )
