I just blew off a homework assignment. Intentionally. Both because I'm sick and because it's utterly ludicrous. See, I'm taking Astronomy ONLINE this semester. Instead of having labs in a lab, we have to do the lab part on our own. That's usually not a big deal. This time, however, we're supposed to build a diffraction grating and then use it ( Read more... )

I was reading 'Club Dead' (Southern Vampire Mysteries #3 by Charlaine Harris), but I finished it a couple hours ago and moved on to 'New Moon' (Twlight Saga #2).

Will wander over to aforementioned group as soon as I have more energy :D

I haven't read the Southern Vampire Mysteries. I may have to look into those.

The Twilight series is an entertaining if not terribly plausible read. I've don the first two and am looking for Eclipse in paperback now. :) I hear the movies are already begun, too.

SVM is now a series on HBO called TrueBlood (no idea how that will turn out - I'm actually scared to watch it, so I guess it's good I don't have HBO ;) )

I really like the world she's created and it has the added bonus of not being about a high school girl :P Hmm....we have the first book. Maybe we can bring it to you when we come down to faire (not a set date yet, but I should know by this weekend). Do you guys have any faire plans, btw?

Alton Brown is where it's at. he's taught me nearly everything I know about cooking. His main show which has far too many episodes to count is "good eats" but he also has feasting on asphalt and feasting on waves(running currently) where he (on the first one)drives cross-country on a motorcycle and tries places out on the way, and the other he sails across the Caribbean.

I've caught bits and pieces of 'Feasting on Waves'. I haven't watched Good Eats though.

I find it amusing that he went to culinary school because, as a cinematographer, he was appalled by the quality of cooking shows that aired back then. Strange how people find their niches :)
