Wow, that is a really amazing compliment. I'd love to have you as a doctor, Mike!
Don't let your age deter you from getting a job at which you'll excel. If you want to continue training to be a nurse, be a nurse! If you think you want to be a doctor, be a doctor!
I'll be in school for the next 5-7 years, and it won't pay off like med school would if you started.
Whatever you choose to do, you'll be amazing (and not everyone gets that compliment).
If it'll better serve you, then do it! I thought you told me last year that 3 people told you that...regardless, I think you should do med school if it's what you like.
Yea last year it was my clinical teacher, one of the doctors on the unit I was on, and someone else I can't remember off the top of my head. In the end, it's just a timing issue. I have to pretty much put life on hold while in school to do well. I don't think I want to continue doing that till age 30. Would be quite sad.
Whichever makes you happier. If you think you will be fine just doing nursing, then do that. I'm thinking seriously of going back to school for medicine, and I'm trying to decide between nursing and med school. For me, I always have to go above and beyond, so I know that if I go into nursing, I will always be thinking, "I need to move up. I need to be the authority." So med school is looking pretty good about now for me.
