Long story short--- after the kids moved to GA (from MA) at the end of June I looked and looked and looked for a job there - I finally found one mid September.   They did all of the interviews over the phone and didn't make me fly down for an interview.  BUT they wanted me to start very quickly.  I was only able to give like 4 or 5 days notice at
