And so I says to the guy, I says look. I just can't study for my Ethics test.
Someone just rolled by, and they were definitely playing "Diddle my Skittle" by Peaches. That undeniable, overpowering bassline just pushes itself into my heart.

In latter news, I suggest everyone check out both The Arcade Fire and Sufjan Stevens. The Unicorns are coming ( Read more... )

1. ahhhhh beat poets! have you ever read any richard brautigan? i believe he is the underappreciated of the beat writers. plus he basically resided in san francisco. he describes places in the city in such a way i feel like i don't even live here because i don't see what he sees.

2. have so much fun at the good life. it was the best concert i had been to in a long long time.

3. i think kerouac would have worn chucks had he gotten the chance.

4. from one aspiring director to another. i think you'd make a good one. how do i know? the way you describe things.

1. yes! i was just reading something by him in my beat book yesterday. and i just now read your post again! oh dear, that is fantastic. i love the beat generation... tis what i plan to teach in college.

2. i'm 18! i'm really excited, because they seem like such an awesome, mellower yet exciting band to see live.

3. i'd love to think that he would, in fact, i'm positive he would; now that you say it. you're brilliant.

4. you're the sweetest person on earth, and i think you would make an awesome director for the same reason; and the pure intensity of emotions in your posts. they seriously hit me, very distinctly.

5. you're awesome. :)

what? oh. no. i just thought it looked cool.

..PSYCH!

i loved the movie, and even moreso, i adore ray johnson. if you have an affinity for abstract art and aesthetic pleasure deriving from placement techniques, i highly reccommend the artist I mentioned earlier in my post... Mordecai Ardon. He is considered the greatest Israeli artist, and he produced work up until his death in '92. Check it out...

..AND! You're awesome for having seen How to Draw a Bunny. No one else knows what it is, or what the hell I'm ever talking about, haha; so, thumbs up!

aw what a nice entry. Tell me more about this Veronika Decides to Die book, what's it about?

Veronika Decides to Die, so far, has been really good. It's about this girl who determines that nothing makes her unhappy, though nothing makes her happy. All of her joys rested in her youth, and so now, her future would be nothing but a routine of decline. So, she takes a bunch of sleeping pills in a room at a convent. She finally is ready to accept death, when she passes out, and someone comes to her rescue; saving her... however she is in a mental asylum, and she is told she only has a week to live. It's really interesting... definitely check it out. :)
