Bloodbath & Beyond recording was supposed to begin on Friday but we got off to a very late start, such that by the time we had the studio set up here in the living room, instruments miked and a pep talk from Tim Kerr, it was time to head out to our first show. we hadn't recorded a note. thankfully we were borrowing different gear for the show ( Read more... )

that's a bummer about not being able to record, i know i'm not alone in wanting to hear this new musical endeavor.

mexican food in san diego can't be beat...except for maybe in mexico...

awesome awesome awesome guy. super optimistic level-headed sweetheart of a guy. as cheesy as it sounds, he's a total inspiration for someone my age who wonders just how long a person can stay involved in this whole thing. you don't find many people his age doing what he does, as involved as he is these days. he's not stuck in the 'glory days' of his punk rock past, but totally enthused by the state of the present and future.

we just got back from his house -- the place is a museum.

Fucked Up (amazing hardcore band from Toronto) and Born/Dead (friends from SF, supposed to be good) in Long Beach on Friday
Fucked Up, Born/Dead, and Run For Your Fucking Life (reunion show) at the Che on Saturday
Run For Your Fucking Life and Bumbklaatt at the Rosary Room (Pokez) on Sunday

...so i guess it's all hardcore stuff, but all really good bands worth seeing if you were thinking about going.
