Yeah, I didn't disagree -- they seemed like something that might be mildly fun but hardly essential.

But part of my issue with books (and specifically with paperback fiction) the past few years has been an inability to find glasses that make reading the cramped print in them comfortable/feasible. With this ebook thing, struggling with different glasses isn't an issue. Big, clear fonts! So, uh, I like. :D

Speaking of unacceptable dentistry, surely temporary crowns that keep falling off and that split when chomped on fall under that rubric? Also who is 'she'? The dental assistant? My dentist attaches her own temps and crowns, which may explain why they stay on.

She equals assistant, yep. I went to an Actual Dentist for years, and she was great, but appointments had to be booked nearly a year in advance -- and if something else came up in the meantime, getting a different slot was hell. When I didn't make it to my last appointment on time, I was dumped as a patient. I called around a bit, but couldn't find anyone who was accepting new patients at that time.

So I gave up on it until my mom pushed me into calling Dentistry Chain, and that's been all right for the most part. Assembly line milieu aside, I can actually get an appointment within a week or two when something's wrong.

As for the temp crown, it was always the same one, on the same side; I think it was related to the location. Just glad it all seems to be over now. :P

A few years back, I had to have a filling on the inside surface of my right front tooth. It totally changed my bite; for the first few days, it felt like a big huge lump of something had gotten stuck to the surface of the tooth. I had to completely relearn how to align my jaws.

Yeah, I totally get that. I'm currently learning how to deal with these. :P
