In ye olde pirate lore, a Relation Ship is the nickname for the dingy that would be used to travel between two galleons when a parley is in effect. Often times the messengers would be captured and held for ransom if the opposing party did not agree with the terms, hence the negative connotation among free-spirited males, especially those who adhere to the seafaring faith.
