Lastnight "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, Guitarist for the Metal band Damageplan, and formerly of Pantera was shot and killed onstage in Columbus, Ohio, as his band were playing there first song

All I can say is that I wish they hadn't shot/killed that gunman, because I would have loved to buy him tickets to a Tesla concert.
But according to the article on Dimebag's death I read, the guy jumped an 8-foot fence and got into the club via a back door... since the club employed unarmed, basically volunteer security guards, all they could do was chase after him and try to catch up, but they didn't until it was quite obviously too late.
Which is scary if you think of The Boardwalk. I vote we start using Johnny Love as a human shield.
Anyone who jumps onstage to shoot someone has some kind of mental problem. Pantera was just the fixation... it could have been any band.
I do notice a lack of security at most clubs I visit though- Especially in the Los Angeles area. Often men are the only one's ever even "patted" down. Although it wouldn't have prevented this tragedy, (or probably any tragedy where the person is mentally ill), running a metal detector over everyone entering the club could help some stop some gang violence, some shootings that happen in stupid arguements, and accidental shootings.
I guess this might not be a big issue in Sacramento (although some people there are still packing weapons - I assure you)... but... what about in city's like Long Beach/Los Angeles and their suburbs where there are known rivalries?
The last time I got stopped while walking into a venue in LB it was because I didn't have on "the right" shoes.

I'm now scared to be on stage in a large venue, to an extent. Not like it'll for sure happen to me, but still. It's fucking scary.
