I just returned from a 5 day trip to visit my friends Gary and Randy in Biloxi, Mississippi, which had been ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. Most of the debris has been cleared away, but to see lots of vacant lots where buildings used to stand, and the remains of buidings and bridges is disturbing indeed. Yes, I had a great time. There was a lot of 'heart' in this trip. Brave, gutsy people in the Gulf Coast, considering what they've been thru and are still going thru. The government and insurance companies can all go to hell. It's a disgrace, their greed and indifference and incompetence are disgusting.
The devastation from Katrina is actually more eerie than horrific, but terrible enough. But, my friends were very happy that I came down. It was a trip I shall never forget, and I intend to return.

I could join in the rant about katrina too but but i know i'd be singing to the quior (yeah spelt wrong,, brains defunct lol):) did you ever watch 'When the Levies Broke' ? A very scary and saddening film :(
