running is horrible for my knees but i'm going to try and wake up early to do some speed walking! :P

same here ... running kills my knees. but i'm going to try and run on dirt instead of concrete and invest in really good shoes.

the first 3 weeks i will be speed walking as well to acclimate myself :)

Yay for running. Did a 5k sponsored by work in February. :) Good shoes, stretch, stay hydrated, and get a good sports bra.

start with 5 and add 2 minutes each week till you can build up the stamina. Soft bouncey shoes for the knees are good, and if you get splints, take a break and then pick it up again.

next time you come to nyc you can run the 5 k in central park with me
