A/N: I know it has been a while since I posted the last chapter, I'm sorry for that.

Betaed by the other half of my online-soul, ghostfour , aka Ghosty the Unstucker. Without her this would only be a blank page. She made me see the boys again when I was panicking and I was so convinced that I wouldn't be able to finish this story.

I swear I really didn't mean for the cliffhanger to happen, it just came out like that... Already started with the next chapter, shouldn't take that long... :)

Oh, this story is so good! Such an intruguing look at John's and Sam's relationship, with poor Dean caught in the middle as usual. Your portrayal of them all is very realistic, and Sam's situation just breaks my heart with how much it sucks.

I can't wait to read more!

Thank you SO much! John and Sam is the one thing that keeps me going these days (SPN-fic-wise that is) so I'm more than happy that you like it!

And Sam's situation is so bad that I (almost) feel sorry for putting him into it, but it all happens for a reason... ;)

*munches on cookies* I swear I didn't mean to make you wait that long for the last chapter, I had this really severe case of writer's block that just wouldn't let go. It seems I'm over it now.

Anyway, I am worried too bout the hooded... thing and I'm afraid they both have every reason to be wary, there will definitely be more angst next time! *chuckles evilly*

I'm so, so happy your still interested and thank you SO MUCH for your nice words, can't wait to find out how you like the next chapter! :)

Wow I love this story. Just found it and it's so gripping and intense. You've captured the complexity of John and Sam's relationship so well here. I feel so bad for both of them caught up in this terrible trap. John's order is keeping Sam from hurting his father at terrible cost to himself until John figured it out and helped him with it and then the tables turn and now it looks like John himself is going to go after his youngest. Sam can't fight him back right? He won't be able to protect himself? That's pretty awful and yet awesome!

I can't wait for the next part. I'm really hooked.

Thank you SO much! :) You're right, Sam can't fight back IF John attacks him and that's exactly what John is afraid of. Maybe he will, maybe he won't, haven't decided yet... ;)

The complexity of their relationship is what most people simply ignore in favor of the rather boring stories with Sam only being a pain and nothing more to John and/or Dean and John always being a grouchy old man who likes to yell a lot... That's not the John I see on the show so I will NEVER go there. I'm glad you like both of them like that!

I'm doing the best I can to get the next chapter written ASAP, can't wait to hear what you think about that! :)
