It sure is a weird suicide note, but it's deep. The guy has been a political writer for a while. He's dealt with Nixon, Ford, Carter (the peanut farmer at that), Regean, Bush I, he hated Clinton as well, and Bush is what took the cake for him. I was pretty depressed when I learned Bush would be president again. I ended up going heroin just to make the day numb. I think Bush being president again was too much for him. On top of Football season being over. The guy did a lot in his life. He took drug use to a level too many of us are afraid to even go. Thanks to Johnny Depp he got the memorial he always wanted. Only he would want to get shot out of a cannon. They got the biggest cannon they could build and it had the Gonzo journalism symbol on top. It was a good article ( ... )

Yeah I was pretty disturbed by the whole thing as well. I guess I just always figured him to be too stuborn to kill himself, ya know. Like he would be one of things around with the cockroaches after nuclear holocost or something. In that maybe too many, incuding himself took him for granted.
He actually tried to be on friendly terms with Clinton, though he ended up working for the Perot election of all places to be. The first time he met Clinton he tried to give him what he thought was a kewl gift and Clinton somewhat scoffed at it by pushing it aside. It was a rather expensive sax reed. HST wrote about all this in Better Than Sex : Confessions of a Political Junkie.
I need to get that issue of Rolling Stone just for keep sakes I suppose.

Peace, Love and Chocolates,
~~Mikk
