Chromium OS - Is it just a browser

Just got my hand on Chromium OS, latest operating system form Google. I'm well aware that it is still in development, but I'm not too sure what is the vision behind it. Just a browser? They will ship a computer that boots into a browser? Yes, there are game, a Flash and HTML5 based games, again, in the browser. So what's the catch?

The (possible) future of distributed computing. Nothing is run on your local box, everything is in the cloud. You access your apps and data from any device, any place, as long as you have internet connection, and the (HTML5) capable browser. No need to have a powerful computer unless your app requires processing massive amounts of info that would have to travel back and forth between the client and the server (ex: engineering designs, big images, etc)
