What are the symptoms? A starter problem is usually a clicking sound instead of cranking the engine when you turn the key. Weak starts are usually electrical (battery, battery connection, loose grounding wires, etc). Cranking strongly and just not starting is probably something else.
I'm going with the "it was corroded and the battery wasn't charging because of that, but now it's charging properly" theory until anything new happens.
But maybe I'll need to replace the battery at some point anyway.

Sadly... it took me almost five minutes to get it to start this morning. :p
I can probably try cleaning the contacts better, but I don't think that's the actual problem.
I think I'm back to where I started... might wind up being expensive after all.
