Maybe with a dash of Creed or post-shark-jump Live thrown in there.

Playing the early Final Fantasies on the DS, out of desperation. It's interesting to see how, as you go backwards through the series, bad design decisions unravel and the filthy encrustation of melodrama dissolves, leaving a core of fairly decent lightweight pseudo-RPG action.
