So I've been reading/watching Fate/Zero, right? It's awesome, by the way. But you have to be able to tolerate the good guys getting tortured to no end while the really evil, twisted bad guys get off scotch free. Which is all fine(?) I don't like Shirou all that much either, but I did enjoy the visual novel. Honestly though, the Fate route (the one the anime mostly follows,from what I've heard) is by far the worst. My favorite was definitely Unlimited Blade Works, and I'd say is worth yawning through Saber's route to get to Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel, even if Shirou'd not your favorite. He's better in the second two routes imo, though, because he stops going on about how Saber can't fight because she's a girl or whatever. Plus, I just don't like Saber very much...anyway, I think having played the game makes Fate/Zero more enjoyable, but I didn't finish the anime, so I'm not sure if having played the game is any better preparation than watching the anime ( ... )
