Stargate Atlantis: Whispers

I often try to figure out what the writers have been watching that "inspired" them. Sometimes it's really obvious, like the Aliens episode. So obvious, one of the characters (usually John) makes a reference to it so the audience knows that the writers know it's obvious. Last episode ("The Shrine") was Grey's Anatomy in Pegasus. Keller was Lizzie ( ( Read more... )

See I'm not so sure the woman are guest stars. I think they are preparing us for SGU. Don't you think so? I rather liked the episode though I didn't think it was scary at all but I still really liked it.

I also missed the other characters. I mean I love John and Carson but I love Rodney and Ronon... Teyla I'm iffy on but I would have liked to see her.

I thought I heard they hadn't casted the show yet, but you could very well be right. I did find it odd to see 3 new characters played by actors I actually recognize, and 2 of whom were leads on their own shows. However, if the new team does feature heavily on SGU, it would make me look forward to the new show. It's not too often that Stargate has female characters that click with me. I like the idea of Teyla, but feel she was underdeveloped and mostly wasted. I really liked Rodney's sister and Cadman. Most of the other female characters on the show have been forgettable or I just didn't like them.

I would say that they are feeling us out at least. So did I! I knew them and they didn't die which is what made it suspect. I can't say I liked all of them and I don't want to see an all girl show but it could be interesting with these characters and more people.

I loved Cadman and I love Jeannie.

Hopefully, the new show would have more than 3 characters. :-) I'd be shocked if they made it all girls or even just girls on the team. All the SG shows have been male-dominated. But if they do have women, I hope they do a good job.

Oh, and if they want to squeeze Ronon in there, I wouldn't complain.
