Intro Post! :) and questions!
01. Names & ages: I'm Jessica (21) and unofficially engaged to Kenneth (22)
02. Branch of service: Army
03. Any deployments: none. Still in AIT
04. Location (optional): I'm currently still here in South Carolina and he's in Missouri
05. Children (furbabies count!): our "children" are our video game consoles. LOL
06. Length of time in the serivce: He went through basic training before we met, but while he was still in high school his unit was shipped off. so through this loooong process he finally reenlisted.
07. Plans of getting out or lifer: He wants to attend school after four years, but i have this feeling he'll be staying in.
08. Hardest part of being a Military spouse: My dad was a marine, but when i was born he came home to help my mom...so i TRY to be as strong as my mother was going through so much alone, but the seperation is so difficult for me and i fear there will be more when we get married. He's my best friend and this has been the hardest 6 months ever! I cant wait till he comes back in 3 weeks. THREE WEEKS! He'll be here for 2 weeks and then back to Missouri for a month and then back here where we must take our yearly trip to Washington DC for Katsucon (a japanese anime convention)
09. Best part of being a Military spouse: I feel apart of a very supportive community of other military spouses.
10. Any hobbies that you enjoy: Cosplay (Costume Play...its confusing to explain in short. haha), writing, sewing, blogging
11. What do you hope to see in this community: i really just hope to be able to find support from other military spouses. i'm younger then most, but already truly dedicated and unofficially engaged to my solider. i just want to be able to learn from everyone.
12. Any pictures to share? I wish i had more current ones, but he's been gone since July. I am going to take PLENTY when he arrives back in 3 weeks when i will make sure to post here! So here's an oldie, but my most favorite picture from April of 2007

I cant wait to have some pictures of him in uniform. I'll be sure to post them.
Now for questions:
1.) I know he has to keep his military bearing while in uniform, but when i see him get off the plane i'm going to be way excited since its been 6 months. Its ok to hug/kiss him, correct?
2.) What should i get him for christmas? I dont really think "regular" presents will benifit him much and he wont really be able to enjoy them since he's back to AIT Jan 2. Any gift suggestions? He probably doesnt really want anything anyway...
