I understand and appreciate the feeling. It's a bit like living in dual lives or alternate universes, isn't it? There's Time Together and Time Apart. During the Time Together, the other person's presence occupies the full frame of consciousness; during the Time Apart, the person's absence does the same. Both times take energy, effort, and devotion to uphold. I, for one, perpetually feel that I'm not doing a good job at either due to constant attention to be paid the other. And the whole situation is both incredibly easy and impossibly difficult all at once.
